Went and got a country fried steak breakfast to go and an individual side of pancakes . Then i ordered two of their friday fish sampler . I asked sugar free syrup on app and when I got there they gave me regular . We asked for them to instead give us sugar free . They went to get sugar free and then tartar sauce as they didnt give us any of the sauces for fish . Got home and pulled out food and coleslaw was smashed because they put all 4 orders in one bag so when I grabbed coleslaw it had a smashed lid bending it so i was left holding the lid and coleslaw spilled all out everywhere . Like two bags was too much to ask for all this food ! Then i went to grab syrup and put it on my pancakes . Later my blood sugar dropped and i could not see for awhile . They didnt give me bottles of syrup they poured it in a plastic container . I didnt know they didnt take regular syrups out . How was I to tell which was which ? I figured they would have at lest taken the normal syrups out so that I know which was sugar free . Nope the stupid continues to dominate this place . Ive never in my life had so many bad things go wrong and its only this location in longview .I can write a book of how many stupid crazy rhings they mess up on . Its like they hire the brain dead people of longview . Im sorry but this place is a hard pass never going back . They forget meals half the time . Once they forgot two meals out of three meals ordered . Went back to get the meals and I was told they closed already .So had to go to another place to order food to go while they still had my money . Took 1 hour to get that one meal too .Said they would return money in the morning . The stories dont stop there theres over a dozen more !!!! So please if you get food to go …. Dont leave until you go through your order . Their chicken fried steak tasted like it was a frozen tv dinner was gross . Scrambled Eggs were overcooked to where it tasted like rubber . Fed my whole meal to my dog . Just ate pancakes which i now regret since i had a sugar attack .. update . Went to Cracker Barrel again and im telling you this place is crazy . Ordered French toast . I get my order and I tell her no I needed the sugar free syrup ( already told her in advance like always do at any restaurant). She comes back and tells me they are out of sugar free syrup , but that I can purchase a bottle in their gift shop...
Read moreExtremely disappointed!!! We normally love Cracker Barrel, and have been to this location multiple times before (normally for dinner), but after today, I'm not sure I'm ever coming back. We came at 2:00 on a Sunday afternoon (hoping to avoid the lunch rush) and had to wait a few minutes to get seated, but that is fine, as I know they must still be turning over tables from lunch.
However, once we were seated, we were there for over 20 minutes and not a single member of staff talked to us. No biscuits, no drink order, no "I'm your server and I'll be with you in a minute", nothing. We were being patient, but after the 20 minutes mark, we started trying to more aggressively get servers attention. We were seated right by the door to the kitchen, so servers were literally walking around us to go clean other tables, but we couldn't get anyone to stop. At one point, 3 servers and who looked 2 managers stopped 7 feet a way to talk, but completely ignored us.
We were eventually able to stop a server when they came to clean the table next to us, and they said they could take our order. We put in our full order and did eventually get our drinks and food (although that also took a while). The sides came out all mixed up, but that was easy enough for us to sort out at the table. The food didn't seem to be up to Cracker Barrel's normal standards, but the worst part was the "sweet tea". I'm using quotation marks, because the whole thing tasted watered down.
Once we got our food, no one checked on us, and we had to once again flag someone down to get refills and the check. I honestly don't think they would have noticed if we had just gotten up and walked out.
I could keep going, but overall, the food wasn't good and the service was awful. Apart from getting ignored, the service we did get was given begrudgingly, like we were an inconvenience. We weren't the only ones to get poor service, as we watched the other tables also struggling to wave servers down (despite there being more servers on then there were tables with people at them). And we had to wait quite a while at checkout as there had been a problem with the order of the group in front of us.
My best guess is that it must have been about time for shift change, but if that is how their afternoon service is, they should do everyone a favor and just close down in...
Read moreWe decided to dine here on a Sunday. We figured we'd have to wait, no big deal. We enjoyed looking through the shop while we waited for our table and the attendants there were nice and talkative.
We finally get to the table. We decided to split the Tips, Tenders & Shrimp sampler. Our waitress must not have liked that idea as when we said that, we got a curt "Ok" and took our menus. It took a bit for us just to get our drinks. When asked during ordering, we requested cornbread and rolls. There were two of us, so we figured we'd at least get two of each. Wrong, we got one of each and then when we requested more, the waitress had an attitude with us again about the meal only coming with two bread. This was never stated by her or anywhere we saw on the menu. I don't remember if we got charged for the 2nd basket of two rolls or not. They sure loaded up the basket with 10 butters for two pieces of bread though. I don't know what the policy on bread is now, but I do remember getting more on previous visits, typically at least two per person at the table.
For the meal, we order turnip greens and hashbrown casserole. We got Okra and hashbrown casserole. When I asked for the turnip greens, she brought them but took the Okra back. I'm guessing she just threw it away. I'm hoping that's what she did, but I didn't think that was typical of them to take it away. Not a big deal, other than us not getting what we asked for the first time.
The waitress also did not bother to ask us about dessert, which we would have ordered, if she had asked. She just gave us the check and walked away. Other tables around us, she was more cordial and polite to, but it seemed like she had a different attitude with us because we decided to split a meal rather than order an entrée each. She just judged us from the start and went with it, rather than being polite and we would've tipped higher.
I'm really not one to typically complain about the service in my reviews, but this one just came across as rude from the start. Other than that though, the food and atmosphere were great. Every other employee we interacted with were polite and a pleasurable...
