Let me just start off with I am new to the lorain area and my husband and I used to have a local spot in my old town where we would get delicious mexican food and im on the hunt for something similar. This place had the same style menu, same environment, and was hoping for similar quality. WRONG! I've just had a crap experience. It was around 5pm when my husband and I came in to get dinner we were both really hungry. We were in and out within 20 mins. Bland food, service sucked, couldn't barely hear the waitress in an empty room. From the door we walked in and could barely hear the waitress. How are you a waitress but a squeak of a mouse is louder. Waitress brought a basket of very plain (no salt) tortilla chips and the most watery salsa to the table. After that she took our order. I got 3 chicken enchiladas. My husband got 3 beef enchiladas. After that I saw her sitting on her phone in the corner of the room until another server brought out our food n handed it to us. Then she quickly walked over to the table to ask how the food was. The plates just came to the table we haven't even took a bite yet. Well after i took that 1st bite they tasted like the chicken had been boiled not an ounce of seasoning in that meat at all. To top it off the enchilada sauce tasted like chef boyardee spaghetti sauce. Worst enchiladas I've had. The only good thing about them would have been that there was a good quantity of meat inside the enchiladas. My husband also complained his beef had no seasoning in it and sauce tasted like a can. We paid 10.99 each for bad tasting food and got disappointment. I should of just stayed home and made them myself. It's been about an hour since I ate and my stomach has been super bloated since and not the good bloated feeling. Will definitely not be...
Read moreNo service, for your phone or from your waitress. I had been wanting to take my boyfriend here for a while, because I always had great experiences here. However times have changed. Once seated we told our waitress we needed just a few minutes to look over the menu which is standard for anyone who goes out to eat, unless you are a regular. She returned approximately 20 minutes later to take our order. We thought perhaps this was because of people eating outside, but we couldn't see what it was like because we were seated in front of he restaurant. Once our order was taken we waited and waited. After about 25 minutes we saw our waitress leave with her purse in hand, for what we were later told was her "break". Meanwhile the hostess was giving me nasty looks because I kept looking at her thinking maybe she would flag someone to see if we needed anything. After 30 minutes another waiter came and asked how everything was, and we told him that we were still waiting for our food and that it had been quite some time. Finally after about a total of 35 minutes since ordering the cook brought out our food which was room temperature. My order was inaccurate, and our food was cold but since we were so hungry we ate it anyways. Nobody followed up to ask how anything was, or if we needed refills on our drinks. After we were done eating we waited about 20 more minutes for someone to bring us a check until my boyfriend got up and asked for a manager. They claimed that nobody knew our waitress was leaving, and their solution to our terrible experience was to give us 20% off the check. I paid, and kindly let them know I would not be returning, and how disappointed I was. They didn't seem to care. Take your...
Read moreWe met other family members at Papasitos Saturday evening for dinner. We put in our beverage order and my wife's order was wrong. She ordered a frozen mango margarita but received one that wasn't frozen. When she asked to have it frozen, the server explained this was not possible due to a problem. That was understandable and he should have verified that she would still want it (she did not) since it could not be made that way. He seemed quite annoyed with her when she asked for something different.
As for dinner, disappointing is the word that comes to mind. I ordered fajitas. What came to our table was an overcooked plate of chicken pounded cardboard thin that was dried out and lacked flavor. The beef was the same. There was only to narrow strips of peppers.
I will add that I also get annoyed with paying an extra dollar for spicy salsa. Having worked in Arizona to a year and a half, I became accustomed to the common practice of having a salsa bar where I could go and get a scoop of one or two of the house-made salsas I like - at no additional charge. It seems that more and more restaurants are doing this which is unfortunate. Salsa should be rolled into the overall food price as it is no different than ketchup and mustard at a burger joint.
Anyhow, others in our party were equally disappointed. I didn't go into details, but will add that my wife's meal wasn't good, either. There are better options for Mexican just a few miles down the road. I'd recommend going to those other...
