Emilio's Trattoria — Restaurant in Los Angeles

This is the type of restaurant that reminds me that most people have a very low to average bar for what they consider to be "good" Italian food in general. The prices are absolutely ludicrous. Everyone raves about the chopped salads. So you order the base salad, for about $19.00 then if you want add ons, and I mean things that should be in the salad in the first place, it's an up-charge for every one of them, tomatoes $2.00, cucumbers $2.50, mushrooms, anchovies were a whopping $4.00 and on it goes. I can understand for a protein like chicken but the veggies, that's just insulting. If you'd like to order a starter salad, there is nothing under $19.00 and that's for a basic salad, nothing fancy, nothing special, just lettuce. My pasta bolognese was bland, dry and they must think that by giving you a heaping bowl of it, that justifies the price of $25.00. It doesn't. Make it smaller and tastier. No cheese for sprinkling. I'm not there to eat the left overs for a few days when it will be even more dry. All in for me was $39.00 for a bowl of pasta and a single espresso shot. My friend heaped so many extras on her chopped salad it was $31.00. I wanted to laugh. Were they serious? Then add $7.00 to park and a tip for the attendant and you walk away fleeced to your eyeballs. I have no problem paying top dollar for good food. I have a real problem paying these prices for average food and I mean average is being polite. This is a mid-level restaurant charging like it's much...

I wish I could give 0 start for customer service / satisfaction but unfortunately I have to give at least one. Had take out tonight for my daughters birthday and was quit disappointed- ordered pepperoni pizza, eggplant parmigiana, chopped salad with tuna, and spaghetti . The eggplant and pasta were very dry with no sauce to the point where I had to add extra home made sauce to make it edible. It ruined our dinner bc that was for the kids and wasn’t good at all. I called the restaurant in hopes of some empathy and resolution....just to be surprised by the Arrogance and utter rudeness of the lady who answered the phone- I was told by her : they had sold Many of the same Hi dishes tonight , As a matter of fact sold so many of the same dishes over the Years and NEVER had a single complaint!!!! It’s the safe food for many years and nothing was wrong with it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow !!!! Lady u just lost my business forever as well as other Friends there are local Encino resistance...we come there to eat quit often. But that ends tonight !!! I am very shocked that no one thought you how to talk to repeat customers and all I needed to hear from you tonight was some empathy and perhaps a kind voice to make up for our disappointment - but u don’t get it! I wish I had picked another local Italian place for tonight’s dinner so I didn’t have to deal w you and your very below...

The Best of the Best - Emilio's is a Hidden Gem in Encino! Great for lunch or family dinner with some classic old school charm.

Emilio's absolutely deserves five stars! From the moment you walk in, the service is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming--it feels like you're being hosted by family. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect, and you can feel the pride they take in every detail and generous portions.

And the main event: food--wow. Everything on the menu is fresh, flavorful, and crafted with care, but let me be honest: the chopped salad is my absolute favorite. I crave it constantly. It's perfectly balanced, crisp, and tossed in a dressing that should honestly be bottled and sold on its own. I'd drive across town just for that salad!

Every visit to Emilio's is consistently outstanding. Whether you're there for a casual lunch or a special dinner, you're in for a great experience with delicious food, the tri-colori pasta and the pizza bread are also favorites. Also tiramisu for dessert if you have room. This place is truly a local treasure, and once you try it, you'll understand why it has such a loyal following.
