Golden Bowl Teriyaki — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Im not in this part of town often. I normally stay in SGV. So I was about to just pull through Subway or McD in the same plaza when I yelped this place. Sooo many reviews saying it's the best teriyaki theyve ever had. Lots of elite reviewers saying that. I was like "cmon, if you're gonna say that I HAVE to try it". I got a #5. Chicken Teri and shrimp. Comes with a small salad, 1000 dressing. It comes a little dry. Extra sauce is a MUST. I drowned that shih. And know what? Its pretty good. I wouldnt say best ever, but it does blow chains like Waba and Flame Broiler out the water. Can't compare to Yoshinoya, totally different beast. But chicken is a little more chopped up, so the sauce can penetrate, rice was cooked well, the small salad with half slice tomato and slice of cucumber was good. I dig this place. We don't have anything in SGV like this. Closest is B-Mans, and BMans not as good as this place. Totally recommend this spot. But get EXTRA SAUCE. Skip the avocado too. I got that because everyone on yelp gets it, but I don't think it adds anything to the flavor. Oh yeah, they have Horchata, tamarindo, Jamaica...

I've been coming here for years. YEARS. The bowl is hands down the best. The combo chicken beef with avocado and topping it with teriyaki sauce and some Sriracha will top anything you will ever order any where else. They nailed their food product.

THAT BEING SAID, the service is a hit or miss. Its not on the fault of the shop itself, it's a small shop that wants to stay small. They have the customer base and product to expand, they choose not to. There is only one cashier at all times. And this place is really popular. Honestly, I'm not surprised they don't do well with phone call orders, they are just overwhelmed. Their menu trumps the wish washy service. People who are reading this, please understand they are small so its gonna be hard when everyone wants their food. That should say something about how good it is.

I’m giving Golden Bowl one star because I can’t go lower than one star, yesterday I was trying to make a phone order to pick up and it was a big order the lady asked me what I wanted and after two orders out of six she says okay your total is and I said “excuse me I’m not done ordering yet” so she said “okay what else” then I went on to continue to order another item after that she asked for my name and number I said “ma’am I’m still not done ordering” and she insisted for my name and number once I gave it to her she said “okay pick up in 10 minutes thank you” and that was the end of the call. If you work in a fast food business you need to let the customer complete ordering their food.
