Hubby saw this place on social media and we decided to try it out as I love bentos!! We ordered ahead on their website in case busy in store (Saturday lunch). Was a very easy process and total wait was about 25 minutes so not bad at all. But when we got there not a lot of people so totally could’ve just ordered there (about the same wait or slightly faster maybe).

I got the mackerel bento. Wow the fish is grilled perfectly outside yet so buttery inside! I was worried fish might be dry but not at all! The flavor was on point as well - savory, umami but not overpowering so you can still taste the fish. Hubby got the hamburger steak which was also delicious and covered in truffle demi glaze. All bentos come with rice (with egg yolk), pickles and assorted side dishes. One of the reason I love bentos is it’s very well balanced, with protein, carbs and vegetables. And everything tasted so good here! Not to mention that cute packaging so neat! Oh and we also got chicken karaage which is great too but I prefer the bentos.

It’s located in an industrial area so not exactly little Tokyo. Inside is spacious, sleek and modern looking with free water and chocolate espresso beans. What a treat this place! We will...

This is definitely such an amazing hidden gem in DTLA!😻✨🌈 These bento boxes are so comforting and provide all the nutrition you need in each hearty set.

In Japanese, “Guzzu” means goods & this shop definitely delivers fresh Japanese goods in each bento that they provide🙏🏻

🍽️Ordered: Jidori chicken karaage (spicy) Saikyo miso honey glazed Scottish salmon Hamburg steak

Each of the bento boxes comes with 2 layers, one being the main dish & the other being side dishes. The side dishes include an assortment of freshly pickled veggies, mashed potato, Japanese yams, quail egg, and salad. The meal was soo nourishing and filling because of the variety of fresh vegetables that came with each protein. I could barely finish one meal since their portion sizes are so substantial👏🏻 I would recommend getting the hamburg because the meat was so tender and juicy and the truffle Demi-glaze was so delicious. The karaage was also great since it had so much flavor and was also super tender.

I can’t wait to get these bento boxes again because they’re so convenient to take on the go and they are soo worth it for the...

Guzzu Bento-Ya in DTLA has quickly become my lunchtime go to place for delicious and wholesome Japanese bentos. Walking into Guzzu Bento-Ya feels like a warm embrace, and the staff always welcomes you with a smile. It's the perfect spot for a peaceful lunch break or catching up with friends over amazing food.

Now, let's talk about those bentos – they're truly something special. I've tried quite a few, and they never disappoint. The quality of the ingredients shines through in every bite, from the high quality proteins like mackerel, salmon and grilled chicken to the more than 10 different vegetables that are sourced fresh and local.

What's even more remarkable is the value you get for your money. Considering the quality and portion sizes, it's a steal. In a nutshell, if you're in DTLA and you're all about a lunch that's both healthy and mouthwatering, Guzzu Bento-Ya is where...

I recently took my lunch break at Guzzu Bento-ya, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. I opted for their Hayashi Rice, a flavorful twist on Japanese beef stew, and it instantly became my new favorite comfort food, especially in the chilly weather. The braised tender beef, onions, and mushrooms melded together perfectly, creating a hearty and satisfying meal. The space was cozy and perfect to do some work. I love how they have anime playing on the projector. Beyond their renowned bento boxes, Guzzu Bento-ya impressed me with their new salads and stews, each bursting with flavor. The staff was incredibly accommodating, offering spot-on recommendations that enhanced my dining experience. Whether you're craving a classic bento box or eager to explore their latest offerings, Guzzu Bento-ya is sure to exceed your expectations. Highly recommended! 5/5
