When my friend Merry Norris first took me to the Luis DeJesus Gallery while it was still on La Cienega, she said, “This is a place to see and be seen.”
Merry would know. She was known as L.A.’s ‘godmother’ of arts and architecture.
When I visited the new space on Saturday, I couldn’t help remembering Merry and thinking how much she would have loved the new incarnation of this great Gallery in the downtown arts district. It is stunning. This is how art should be shown.
