Il Segreto Ristorante in Bel Air offers a relaxing and intimate dining experience that makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
We began our evening with the Soufflé di Zucchini, a delicate zucchini soufflé served in a creamy white truffle sauce and topped with thin, crisped zucchini slices. Light and flavorful, it set the tone for a truly enjoyable meal. For our main courses, we shared two standouts. The Veal Scaloppini featured tender medallions of veal sautéed in a bright lemon-caper sauce, served with perfectly roasted potatoes and a colorful mix of tender vegetables—comforting, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The Spaghetti Carbonara was rich and satisfying, with al dente pasta coated in a silky egg-and-pecorino sauce and just the right amount of black pepper to bring everything together.
We ended the meal with the Tartufo al Limone, a creamy lemon sorbet encased in a delicate citrus shell. Bright, smooth, and refreshing, it was the perfect way to finish the evening.
The staff was friendly and professional, and the dining room was stylish yet comfortable—an ideal setting for conversation and connection. Valet parking made the visit even easier. Il Segreto is a wonderful place to meet friends or family from the Valley, West LA, or beyond. I’m already looking forward to the next visit. Be sure to...
Read moreSo impressed by Il Segreto, "The Secret" is well-named, because it's tucked away in the corner of the Glen Center mini-mall, so easy to miss.
But you don't want to miss this exceptional restaurant--absolutely one of the best Italian restaurants in LA. The decor is simple and warm, with large photographs of Italy. The staff is friendly and many have Italian accents (I heard Italian coming from the kitchen, too).
I ordered the classic Spaghetti and meatballs--because that's what I was in the mood for. It was the best I've had outside of Italy, and honestly was as good as anything I had in Italy, too.
Everything was fresh, the "light spicy" tomato sauce was bright and deep. I'm not good with "spicy" but this was really mild and I loved it. The meatballs are ground beef and veal and perfectly seasoned.
My friend had the spaghetti with black pepper sauce and and pecorino cheese. It was rich, peppery and delicious, too.
The serving was large and I took half of it home. Yes, they do charge $1.50 for the bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar--but it's grilled, hot and well worth it.
Note that they don't have some dishes you might except, like lasagne or carbonara, but what they serve is so exceptional I look forward to dining...
Read moreI visited this place last night, and while the ambiance and food were promising, the experience on the second floor was completely overshadowed by a highly disrespectful waitress. She repeatedly mentioned being Italian, as if to justify her behavior, which was dismissive and rude. Ironically, we are Italian too, and we expected a warm and welcoming experience. Instead, her attitude ruined the vibe of the evening and left us feeling uncomfortable. A restaurant is more than its menu—hospitality is key. I hope the management addresses this issue to ensure other guests don’t have a...
