I took my wife here to celebrate our 4 years anniversary. I made reservations through OpenTable and the process was simple. When we arrived to the plaza the restrauant is in, there a underground parking structure that I thought you could get validated but you basically have to pay a fee. We arrived to the restrauant about 30 minutes early but they were still able to sit us next to a window. The place inside is very nice and romantic, they also have someone playing the piano throughout our dining experience. Our waiter was Jason and he was awesome, he was helping on recommended which dish for my wife and also helped me choose the best steak to go with. My wife went with the Miso Sea Bass since Jason recommended it over the Salmon and he was spot on, my wife loved her dish and believe the Sea Bass here is the best out of all the other places she tried. I went with the 12oz prime dried age Filet Mignon, Jason recommended that I always go with USDA Prime over the Angus beef. My steak was very tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly to medium rare. I also got some French fries for my side and it was delicious. This place also give you complimentary bread and they give us a butter, bread banana dessert for our anniversary. We would totally come back for another celebration in the future since we had a great time here and the customer service was spot on.
My rating: Food: 5 star, it's a steakhouse so don't expect the entrée to be cheap. The Filet Mignon was amazing and the Miso Sea Bass is a fan favorite. Their fries are also good too and they give you a lot.
Atmosphere: 5 star, the interior of this restrauant is nice and if you get a window seat, you can see Ventura Blvd.
Customer Service: 5 star, the servers are amazing and our waiter Jason was attentive to our table while also being very helpful.
Parking: 4.5 star, we came on a Wednesday night so we had to pay for parking but I was able to park right next to...
Read moreWent for dinner on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant has a great vibe with plenty of window seating (for 2) and a full bar and bar area. When we were there, there was a business there doing presentations and talking through a PA system that was less than desirable for an evening out. Luckily, the presenting and PowerPoint didn't last for too long, but they pianist didn't play while they were doing their presenting, which was disappointing. We ordered a few drinks which took a little bit to come from the bar and when they arrived, one had a fly in it. It was brought to their attention and quickly replaced. For dinner, we ordered the miso sea bass and a ribeye steak with crab, artichoke, and spinach dip. The first ribeye that came out was nearing well done when ordered medium (which we were told would be bright pink). The server recognized it was overcooked and insisted it be replaced. The second steak came out perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I've purchased many expensive steaks, and this one sits pretty high on the list. My wife loved her sea bass, and it was cooked wonderfully. Staff was very friendly, and the food was good aside from a few hiccups. They did comp us a dessert, which was really good. It was a cake with creme sauce, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and carmazlized bananas. Amber, the manager, also stopped by to apologize about the steak and needing to wait for a new one, and that was super nice. I'd recommend checking it out and maybe calling first, making sure some business hasn't rented out a portion of...
Read moreRachel of the management said we were only allowed to have 4 glasses of wine after we had spent over $500 on dinner, wine and champagne for 3. We probably would have spent another 300 or more on dessert and wine but we were cut-off from indulging any further. We received a wilted Caesar salad and and a cold baked potato. So we complained. It also took about an hour and a 1/2 to have the meal served. Each meal came out of the kitchen slowly and independently of each other's order so yes we were not very pleased with the service and food quality overall. We were there for about 4 to 5 hours so I really don't think 4 glasses of wine was inappropriate considering how much time passed with proper service. We were cut off of wine even before we started to eat our dinner which is odd especially considering the frugile short pours of wine. I guess this is the way the restaurant manager in charge reacts to dissatisfied customers who make a complaint. The 3 of us are International world travelers who especially dine at 4 to 5 star restaurants regularly. This evening at Larson's was a nightmare for all 3 of us and we will never forget it as long as we live. We strongly advise that you find an alternative for star restaurant before wasting your time and money at Larsons Encino. The crew including management are all in there 30 to 20's and they have no clue what a classy Steakhouse...
