The four stars are because of the excess salt. Unfortunately this over salted situation is not uncommon with restaurant food. I ordered based on the very positive reviews I found online. It is homemade in feeling, someone mentioned the food does have a homemade quality to it . Unfortunately I found a couple items in particular too salty: the chicken soup, and the beef kebab. The chicken kebab is not a bit dry as someone in another review mentioned the chicken was moist. The beef, however, in the next kebab plate is a little bit stringy, tough-ish… just a little bit…but it’s too salty. The hummus is good. It comes with really nice warm, flat bread. And the rice which is lying underneath the kebab meat is flavored with the juice coming from the freshly grilled meat, so that’s nice. Overall though what is served in the plate it’s a little under sized portion wise, for what you would expect based on other restaurants kebab plates. I also had a creamy chicken leek soup - which is given free with orders over $20. it seemed less salty then the chicken soup, but still for my taste over-salted. - I ordered this as a delivery order...
Read moreBeen craving some Mediterranean salmon kebobs for a while. I always go to Almaza on Venice blvd for them.Since it was raining decided to skip the traffic try something close by.
Found Lusy's grill with great reviews. Decided to pick some food up on my way back home. Ordered the salmon kebob's and was told my food would be ready in 15 mins. Right then the owner comes out and starts a conversation. She wishes us a Happy New year and offered us some chicken soup and water on the house and told us about how the recipes are from her family with her touch. Such a sweet lady. The soup was amazing 5/5. Once my food was ready pickled it up and headed home. The service was 5/5.
Couldn't wait to try the salmon kebob's. It came with pita bread, hummus, salad, rice and 3 pieces of fish. The fish was grilled perfectly but lacked seasoning. The salad didn't have any dressing on it, but was fresh. The rice was okay. I did enjoy the hummus though. I wish they had some sauce like garlic sauce.
I would definitely be back, but will skip the fish and try the kebobs along...
Read moreMy baby finally hit the three month mark. As a first time and proud parent my husband and I decided to make a small family gathering in celebration. We though what better than some of Lusy's cuisines at out table. Thankfully, we were not disappointed we ordered gyro wraps along with lentil soups for the amount of 20 ppl. I can say it was a hit, everyone enjoyed not only the celebration but the amazing flavors of the food prepared by Lusy's. I can say that each wrap although simple a request, it was made to taste in uniformity every flavor was bold. Also, each item was perfectly packed. Everyone loved it, the delivery personnel Patty (I hope I remembered correctly) was more than gracious and polite. She asked me what the occasion was, once I told her she responded, with a god bless your child. This made it more perfect and personal for me. I will definitely be ordering again from Lusy's. ...
