I am only giving Madlabs 1 STAR mainly because they REFUSED me from buying a homeless man food who was hungry. An employee walked out and said “Sorry that’s against company policy”
I was shocked, but confused since I was using my own money to pay for the food so I can give it to the homeless man, but one of the employees stopped me from doing so. Seemed DISCRIMINATORY, but I ended up walking to a Hotdog stand up the street called ‘Food Heads’ and told them the situation and they were confused and thought it was also outrageous!! That hotdog stand ended up giving me extra free food and drinks and were so kind! God bless them!
Long story short i ended up walking back and giving the homeless man the bag of food and drinks and he was so happy. Seriously though Madlabs “company policy” is still confusing and rubs me the wrong way. Will not be supporting a business who refuses service from people just trying to feed the...

Mad Lab Coffee Roasters is a tiny coffee shop on Pico blvd and Carmona ave in Culver City, LA. They offer a modest selection of coffee, tea and specialty drinks on their menu. Similarly, they have pastries, merch and bean bags for customers. This coffee shop has limited indoor and outdoor seats.

I perused their menu and order an Iced Sencha Green Tea. It's packed with antioxidants, supports heart health, boosts metabolism, and can enhance focus while reducing stress. I really liked it.
Atmosphere was cool. Prices were reasonable and competitive. Street parking only. Staff was competent. Overall, it’s a humble little...

The atmosphere has that neighborhood charm you’d expect from a place like this.
Unfortunately, the service really drags the whole experience down. On my most recent visit (9/10/25), the girl working the counter looked as if she couldn’t care less about being there. Her energy was flat, unwelcoming, and honestly sucked the life out of what could otherwise be a great shop. It’s disappointing, because good service is just as important as good coffee, and this place deserves staff who reflect the pride the community has for it.
If the service improves, this could easily be a go-to coffee spot in Mid City. Until then, it feels like...
