When it comes to their ceviches, mariscos, tostadas, aguachiles, botanas, and one single type of taco, Raul and his crew do not play around. I repeat, they DO NOT play around.
I tried:
Shrimp Taco- “The Best Taco in L.A,” is golden fried to heavenly perfection. The filling consisted of diced shrimp with vegetables, and slightly undercooked so you can comprehend and fully appreciate the natural textures and flavors of the shrimp.
Ceviche Mixto- Shrimp, octopus, and shredded fish cooked in lime juice. Then garnished with avocado, tomato, and pico de gallo all massively piled onto a single tostada.
The “Poseidon” Tostada – This is the same as the Ceviche Mixto, but topped with a very spicy aguachiles sauce that would be perfect for a Bloody Mary mix. Usually, the aguachiles sauce is green in color due to the chilies used. But, Raul explained they wanted to be different from the crowd in order to stand out. Indeed he has. If you love spicy food and heat that’ll clear a stuffy nose, then this is it. Packed with heat, sweetness, and flavors of the sea that I didn’t need to add anything to it as it was perfectly seasoned.
Everything was great. You should try it. Your stomachs will thank you immensely for visiting this...
Read moreGood food. Awful setting. One would think and hope that after all the reviews, and positive word of mouth the proprietors of these trucks would at least try to make an effort in making the experience more sanitary and pleasant.
Flies, bees, and trash are, I suppose, just the setting a customer has to endure to "experience" the street tacos of L.A.
I say rubbish! Why can't the customer enjoy the bear semblance of hygiene and, if not spotless environment (concessions have to be made when eating street foods) but at least make the place welcoming within the parameters of what any reasonable person can accomplish.
My criticism is not solely aimed at Mariscos Jalisco but to all those trucks and street vendors who have benefited from the culinary curiosity of millions of millenials and older generations spending their time to seek them out and money to keep them relevant.

Read moreMariscos Jalisco is a hidden culinary gem, offering an unparalleled combination of value and quality. This food truck with the bonus of indoor seating provides a unique, comfortable dining experience. The standout feature here is the extraordinary value—tacos for just $3 each, an offer that feels almost too good to be true, each delivering authentic, mouth-watering flavors.
One important note for prospective visitors: Mariscos Jalisco operates on a cash-only basis, although they may take Venmo in a pinch. However, they prefer cash payments, supporting the tradition of local vendors. Paying with cash not only facilitates a smoother transaction but also supports the local business ecosystem more directly.
If I were local, I’d likely be a frequent visitor, lured back again and again by the quality of the food and the charm of the setup. For anyone looking for top-notch food at incredibly reasonable prices, Mariscos Jalisco is a must-visit. Don’t forget to bring cash and enjoy the best tacos you’ll find at this price point, all while supporting a great...
