Update: based on other critical reviews here, it seems these issues have been happening for years. I don't understand the positive reviews at all.
We ordered to go food once and it was pretty tasty. We decided to dine in Tuesday night and it was a WHOLE other experience. The kids working there are really nice but the operation wasn't professional and the food was mostly bad. Our waitress was very polite but the quality control wasn't there. When I was a waitress, there's no way I would have accepted the food that came out of the kitchen here. It never would have hit the table.
My boyfriend's sandwich came out cold in some spots and warm in others. It was supposed to be hot. The meat was dry as well. We sent it back and they returned with a new one. The sauce on my chicken was pretty good (too sweet and mild for my preference, though). The chicken seemed promising but the two big wings were just skin-wrapped, meatless bone covered in BBQ glaze. Corn is easy, right? Nope. My corn was old, squishy, and flavorless. I'm certain the mashed potatoes were made from dehydrated flakes, too. I'm not exaggerating here. It was one thing after the other... Even butter patties were rock hard and the corn muffins were "day olds" (dry and tough). I barely ate only half of my food even though I was hungry. Such a disappointing meal for both of us.
Also another family have been waiting for someone to greet them for a while. They asked us if anyone had come out and eventually the husband had to talk to someone in the kitchen to get service. Also there was no music playing. There was some strange talk radio station playing, however. Barely audible. Odd. Gave the impression they didn't really care about their guest's experience.
Like I said, the people are nice but the whole operation seems to be a mess. It's unfortunate because the place has so much potential. I wish we could come here often, have drinks on the patio, listen to live music, etc...
Please fix your management issues. Until then, we...
Read moreAbsolute worst bbq I've ever had. 4 stars on Google?? What the...?? Where do I begin. Food was cold. I guess they didn't even bother to put it in the microwave. The corn bread buns were so dry I could see and taste the uncooked flour in the middle. Were the french fries tasteless? You betcha! Cold and tasteless fries.. YUM! You know how hot fries in those little brown take-away bags leave the bag a little damp because of the steam from the hot fries? No need to worry about that! And how were the beans you ask? Oh, boy? Beans straight from a can anyone? Delicious! And so nice to have ground beef or whatever that dog food grade meat was in the beans. Absolutely disgusting. And for the coup de grâce, the beef ribs... Did I mention the food was cold. Btw, I drove to pick up the food so it's not like I had to wait 45 min for delivery. Anyway, the beef ribs were awful. They were cold, as if they pulled them from the fridge and plated them without warming them up. They were tough and not at all "meaty" as they were advertised. And worst of all they were absolutely flavorless. And the bbq sauce they provide was just as watered down and flavorless as the rest of the meal. I'm really sorry to leave a bad review, I really am. This is not my thing. I usually will have a bad takeout experience and just never eat there again. I don't think the people at the restaurant are bad people and I know lots of businesses are hurting. But when you contribute to businesses by patronizing them there should be a minimum level of quality, right? Idk, maybe I just needed to vent because that was literally my only meal for the day and there was absolutely no part of that meal that I enjoyed. Maybe they were good in the before times, idk, but this meal there was my first...
Read moreThis is for take-out on New Year's Eve: we ordered the BBQ Tri-Tip sandwich platter (with fries and potato salad) , Eastern Baby Back Pork Ribs (with garlic mashed potatoes and coleslaw), corn muffins, and a drink.
When we called in our order they were speedy yet precise with everything, repeating back the order, telling how much it cost (about $37), and taking down my name and phone number.
Picking up the order was a breeze and everything turned around once they forgot to give us our drink. When we got back to our hotel to enjoy our meal and we find out they did not give us any utensils or napkins. They didn't look so busy and to think about it they should ask if we needed utensils or napkins or at least said "Utensils and napkins are over here." The hotel was able to provide what we didn't have and then came the kicker. The portions were reasonable but the food itself was one hit and majority of misses.
For the tri-tip sandwich, there was no flavor in the sandwich, the fries were unseasoned, the potato salad was bland. The baby back ribs were great (omitting the bbq sauce), the garlic mashed potato tasted like regular mashed potatoes with a hint of garlic, and the coleslaw that flavorless. The cornbread. . . do I really need to say it? The bbq sauce which came with both of our orders was the sweetest bbq sauce I have experienced in my life. I thought I like sweet bbq but it seemed as though they took bbq sauce and doused it with a ton of sugar. It did not compliment my ribs or the sandwich at all.
I came here because it was the only bbq place that was still open around the area when I was driving in from LA. Rib Ranch BBQ is going to be a one time deal for this gal.
