Tomato Pie Pizza Joint (Woodland Hills) — Restaurant in Los Angeles

HONEST REVIEW: Pizza is "prepared" alright. Looks "pretty" but the sauce is particularly WEAK and FLAVORLESS.

We tried 3 different ones. Pesto, bbq and tomato. Pesto was almost nonexistent as a flavor. I thought maybe it hadnt been put on but its just extremely thin. Bbq sauce is watered down and flavorless. The tomato sauce is something akin to generic water tomato sauce from a can. Either management is requesting they put sauce light to save on food costs (ive had managers do this to get better bonuses) or the recipes are weak. I dont leave many reviews but for the cost of the pizza, this was sub par. Also the crust was bland. Cardboardy and flavorless. Also they didnt provide red peppers or parm cheese packets with delivery. There are many better options near by. Hell even the chain joints r better. Nice customization options on their website tho. Offers a lot of diversity and customization, really like that but quality needs a heavy bump up. Given the prices they should invest in their primary product. I used to go out of my way to support local businesses all the time! This was one of our staples when we ordered take-out, on special occasions we would order the heart shaped pizza. I would always post on my social media and many people would drive near and far to get the heart shaped pizza based off my post. Well, this Valentine’s Day, they refused to make me the heart shaped pizza (even though I called early in the day and was very flexible with the time of pick up). Their excuse was, they’re too busy… to me that’s a tacky excuse for a business… you should be busy but if you can’t make something CONSISTENTLY, don’t offer it. Besides, they were probably so busy because of me shouting them out on my social media platforms. I was loyal to a small business and it was not reciprocated… they have forever changed my loyalty to local businesses since they showed me it wasn’t valued. Tomato Pie is hands-down one of the best pizza spots I’ve been to! The pizza is always fresh and made with high-quality ingredients — you can really taste the difference. The crust has that perfect balance of crispiness and chew, and the toppings are always generous and full of flavor.
