I’d like to come here and share my experience. This is our second time coming here to this restaurant. We absolutely love the food but have been treated poorly. First time we came for my husband’s birthday 2 weeks ago our waitress was very rude . I asked her what she recommended and she said “ I don’t know what you like so I can’t tell you “. I took that very rude but left it as it is . Tonight my husband wanted to come eat here bc like I said food is great . We walked in and the main waitress by the bar would not even acknowledge us . Random customer said please be seated the waitress will be with you and told us he didn’t work there but knew the rules and laughed. We sat. Same waitress passed by us . Random customer told her to check on us so she did rudely. Gave us menu’s. No one came for 20m. After I stopped her and asked her if I can order a drink and she said to wait for our waitress. Finally she came and we ordered. My husband has been sober for 12 years . He ordered a non alcoholic beer. They came back and gave us our drinks . My husband takes a sip and he says “ this is a beer! We look and and it was not a non alcoholic beer. We tell our waitress and she starts arguing with the lady that’s bartending . I’m really upset and so is my husband. They came out saying how sorry they are and bartender blamed it on who stocked the beers. No this is definitely bartenders fault tonight. She is who served it . Our waitress should have noticed it was an actual beer as she brought it to him . You guys have no idea the impact you guys have done towards my husband sobriety. If your bartender would have payed attention to what the order was instead of chit chatting with her guests this wouldn’t have happened. My husband sat and ate his dinner bc he’s a man of respect but I demand a call back and full refund from this night from a manager or an...

From the moment you step through the door, this pub oozes charm, character, and that unmistakable British warmth. Whether you're a local or a traveler looking for the real deal, this gem delivers an experience that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly genuine. I had their liver & onion and it was perfect.
The decor is delightfully traditional – think wooden beams, worn-in leather armchairs, brass fixtures, and a roaring fireplace that invites hours of conversation. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for in an authentic British pub: cozy, lively, and welcoming without ever feeling too crowded.
The staff are friendly, efficient, and always up for a bit of banter. You get the sense that they truly care about their regulars and newcomers alike – it’s that rare balance of professionalism and personality that makes all the difference.
The beer selection is top-notch, featuring a stellar range of local ales, bitters, and craft brews served perfectly chilled or at the proper cask temperature. The food? Simply outstanding. From flaky steak & ale pies to perfectly battered fish & chips and Sunday roasts that taste like home, every dish is a comforting nod to classic British fare.
Whether you're popping in for a pint, staying for a hearty meal, or just soaking up the ambiance, this place is the real thing. It's not trying to be trendy or flashy – it knows exactly what it is, and it does it brilliantly.

Read moreThis was a true surprise as I was invited here by a friend. I am a bit of a snobby Anglophile so I chuckled bit but wanted to have lunch with my friends. What I saw & tasted was real British food run by a real Brit ... with some caveats ....
We had: Scotch Egg (so yum I ate one before I shot a pic) Shepherds Pie (a bit runny) Beef Bourguignon pie (delicious but french) Steak & Mushroom (intense & perfect) Sunday Roast Trifle
PRO: Honest UK Food. When it's good (pies) it's good Reasonably priced Delicious food Great portions & appearance
CON: I sadly can not suggest the Sunday Roast. Overcooked, roast potatoes had no skin and the veggies seemed boiled ? Panko on the fish and chips? For shame ... you know you need to fry fry fry! A bit dark, but it's a true pub! A bit loud, but it's a true pub! Avoid the trifle, (sadly no one liked this, it was all whip cream)
SUMMARY: Enjoyed the food here, didn't enjoy some of the food here. Pie compares to some I've eaten in London.
This was a true pub in the sense of taste & smell. The bonus is that if you like any of the condiments you can get them next door at Friar Tuck (the...
