I showed up on a very lovely sunny day to wait for my friend. I brought in my service dog and immediately a man came over and told me that I couldn't have him inside. It is a federal law that states that I cannot be discriminated against because of my service animal. He proceeded to tell me that he dealt with this many times and he was not going to serve me. As if I was a hooligan that he had to deal with. So basically, he was telling me that he discriminates against those with disabilities. My service animal is very small, and though I don't look like I have a disability, my service animal is very important and does a very important job. He has saved my life more than once. The man was very condescending and rude from the get go. I was very patient at first, because on a regular basis I run into people who don't understand the laws. When I simply tried to explain them to him, he would cut me off and say 'go ahead and call the cops all you want I've dealt with this before'....so what he is saying is that on a regular basis, he harasses those with service animals. The laws are in place for this exact reason....I felt harassed. A young lady came over and told me that there was a patio that I could sit out on. It was a beautiful day and I would loved to have. But after the way I was treated I wanted nothing to do with the place. I mentioned that he was very rude and condescending, and he denied it claimng I was the one being rude from the beginning. I am patient and understanding with those who don't understand the laws, and what I may be going through, so his comments were completely out of line. I was taken aback, by his attitude, and his blatant disrespect. I will never go in there again, even if...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI come here often with my friend and boyfriend, normally days when we have band rehearsal and just want some good food. Service has never really been a problem before. But yesterday was awful. I tried to be understanding of that fact there was a game and it was busy, however when things play out a certain way, you can't help but to get upset.
We walked in and a waitress told us "wherever is available guys". I don't know whether or not she heard us say we'd sit outside, but she didn't even offer us menus. We sat outside for 7 to 10 minutes without any kind of greeting. Our table was dirty and I started noticing other tables getting serviced. So I went inside to ask for menus.
I stood by the host podium and waited. First waiter looks at me and walks away. Then the waitress who told us to find a seat looked at me, quickly cut her face away and walked over to another waitress to tell her of our tables existence. Again, no acknowledgment that I might need something...then the other waitress, also sees me standing there, walks passed me, goes to service another table with a big smile "hi how are you? What can I get you? "
Having spent so much time trying to find a parking space, being extremely hungry, and being ignored, I decided I'd rather find some where else to eat and left.
As I said the service yesterday was out of character and we will come back to this restaurant, but I was so upset by this I had to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a South African now living in California, I was super excited to come to this place for a taste of home. I wasnāt expecting a high end restaurant, I knew it was supposed to be a casual sports bar so my expectations were not super high - but I havenāt experienced anything as disappointing as this place in a very long time. Walking in, the tables were filthy⦠but ok no worries. Eventually received a menu and service. Ordered drinks and asked for the cider to come with glass of ice. No glass, no ice. They rectified that so all good. Went to order their signature South African item - the boerewors roll⦠none left. Which meant that the appetiser platter was also going to be missing the boerewors. It was the main reason for our visit so I was quite disappointed, but dealt with it so asked if they could instead do the chicken livers. None of those either! So I said ok, can you sub the missing items for more samosas? Platter came with a single samosa. I ended up having to get chicken for my entree but wasnāt even given a knife. As we were finally eating, they closed the kitchen early (at 8:30) and started stacking chairs up around us. Didnāt ask us if we wanted another drink or anything before giving us the check, mid meal. Service terrible, none of the South African food we wanted, Iām heartbroken because I really wanted to...
