Unfortunately, I have to update my review ( with one less star) and keep it as honest as possible. We ordered food from Coleys recently and went to pick it up. We ordered 4 items and it seemed as if the woman was confused or something as initially she was insisting that the order was complete with only 2 items. We got home only to find liquid all over (inside) one of the bags, and it had leaked onto another container. So it was messy! There was way too much sauce on the rice ( we ordered oxtail and rice), otherwise the oxtail was pretty good. The escovitch fish had A LOT of sauce/seasoning; I have never had such a "soaked" fish and I eat plenty fish, especially when in Jamaica, so I know the true taste. Even if the item "comes with the sauce on it", there is no need to over-saturate. I wiped the fish as much as possible, I could sense it was meant to be tasty but the sauce or whatever was on it tasted like it was vinegar based (and way too much of it); be warned it is far from cheap. There was so much sauce that had leaked that it soaked the festival through and through; needless to say, I had to throw the festival away. We also ordered saltfish fritters. After wiping and squeezing out as much of the oil as possible, the taste wasn't bad, but too much oil was used to fry them! On the other hand, the oxtail meal also had a festival, and my relative said it was good. She also had purchased Coleys ginger drink and enjoyed it, though it is not for the weak, as it has lots of ginger 🫚. She decided to order jerk corn. It looks nothing like what we saw online. Once again, there's way too much sauce on an item. Since when is "jerk" so wet? She hasn't tried it yet as it does not look appealing at all; we may end up throwing it away. Disappointing experience, and the bill was close to $100! Overall, I'd say most food items are okay but with too much sauce. Will I order from them again? Honestly, at this point, I'm not sure.

I recently visited The Original Coleys, and as a Jamaican familiar with the quality and standard of Jamaican cuisine, I was blown away by the warm hospitality and attentive service. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. I also appreciated the lively Jamaican music playing in the background and the clean environment they maintained. I ordered the beef patty, the oxtail entree with a side of jerk chicken and soursop juice. While the oxtail was a bit salty, the rice and peas and jerk chicken were flavorful and well-seasoned, showcasing the kitchen's knowledge of Jamaican cuisine. However, I must say that the overall taste did not match the price they were charging. My total came to $53.65, which I found to be a bit pricey. One thing that bothered me during my visit was when my aunt was about to pay on the Clover machine, they made it sound like tips were mandatory. The owner said, "We don't work for free," even though I'm not certain what he meant by that. This made me feel uncomfortable, and as a Jamaican, I would have appreciated a more tactful approach to asking for tips. Overall, I was impressed with the genuine hospitality which is extremely rare in a Jamaican restaurant. Being Jamaican myself, I have high standards for Jamaican cuisine, and The Original Coleys' understanding of the cuisine was evident in their food. I gave them a tip of $10, as their hospitality was exceptional. Despite the high prices and the awkward tip situation, I would still recommend them to anyone looking for delicious Jamaican food, great service, and a fun atmosphere.

I stopped by this restaurant for lunch and everything was beyond expectations. I found it on google then called to find out if they cooked fish, I was then given the option of placing the order over the phone. From I entered into the restaurant the atmosphere was very pleasant with reggae music jamming not too loudly in the background. The workers were quite welcoming and professional. Let’s skip everything else and go straight to the food , very well presented and served on a plate with knife and fork. The brown stew fish was definitely authentic and portion was perfect, I had a take a break because I was so full before getting to my favorite part “the fish head” . I bought home made sour sop juice, it was so good I had to finish it before the meal came, then I ordered sorrel and oh my I was NOT disappointed at all . The service was amazing and friendly from the ladies behind the counter and my server Neil who checked on my table several times to ensure I was ok. He even brought over the extra items I ordered and offered me a glass of ice for my drinks. Overall a great dining experience and I will definitely be going back

I am always on the hunt for good Jamaican food. I found this place a week ago, on Saturday. We ordered to go: oxtail plate and curry chicken plate as well as 2 beef patties and shared. The beef patty with the cheese was good, but I prefer the traditional without cheese. They were crispy and fresh.

The oxtail were good and tender, but not the best I've had - the flavor was a bit off - my friends agreed. I really enjoyed their festival!!! I could just eat them. I love cornbread and it almost gave me a southern cornbread feel.

The curry chicken was the star! I wish we had gotten more. It was tender, seasoned to perfection. I can't wait to get it again. This was some of the best curry I've ever had...and I've traveled to Jamaica!

The roti was good too and held up well for leftovers.

Upon entering, you could tell they were a bit busy and had just opened, but weren't very warm and friendly. The mom just worked around me and didn't really greet me either as I stood there waiting for my order to go. The new owner (son in law of the original owner), eventually spoke to me and we had a great conversation. His wife packed my food and became a bit more friendly. They weren't rude, just not very warm. However, the conversation with the owner changed my service experience. I would definitely go again and I'd even try thr oxtail again. But I likely wouldn't need to having found such good curry.

Also, rice and peas were great. Vegetables not too seasoned, but balanced well with the flavors of...
