I had the chilaquiles divorciados (half and half sauced), pasilla and habanero. Friend had the chilaquiles burrito, so damn good too! The pasilla sauce was slightly spicy and the habanero sauce was spicy AF, but both have great flavor. The pasilla was very smoky, loved it. They were kind enough to let us try 3 of the salsas so that we could make up our mind. We both had the asada, super tender, minimal fat or tendons. You can smell the meat coming from a block away
The chips are made to order and omg they are so lightly crunchy, not overly oily either. They have a molcajete salsa for you when you sit.
Tried their homemade horchata, BOMB!!! It does have a bit of a grainy texture, but I love that. A little on the sweeter side, so I would probably order an extra cup of ice.
They also gave us free churros with cajeta inside. They were so good! They are not made by them, but props to whoever makes them for them.
The restaurant itself is very clean, the music is not overly loud, service is TOP TIER. Staff is friendly, accommodating and very attentive. Hablan español y inglés.
Definitely will be...
Read moreA seriously good brunch spot. Everything was delicious and house-made, from the delightful charred salsa they served with the thick tortilla chips to the strawberry churros for dessert. I ordered the menudo, and my vegetarian spouse ordered the chipotle chilaquiles. Both were both amazing, and the handmade yellow corn tortillas were just perfect. The staff was so kind and attentive, they gave us complementary churros! I can't wait to go back and try the Birria de Chivo!
More context -- Tia Brigida is in the former Tacos el Veneno spot on Indiana. We loved El Veneno for its walking distance proximity and full menu. I genuinely enjoyed everything I ordered from them. It was a sad day when they closed. We were very disappointed by the short-lived Carnitas Corona spot that took its place, and we are very happy that Tia Brigida has opened shop. I certainly hope it's...
Read moreThe servers were incredibly sweet and patient, the food was SO SO SO delicious. They start you off with chips and salsa, not verde o rojo, different but really good. The enchiladas michoacanas had lots of queso fresco, good crema, and were deliciouuusss. In the chilaquiles, they fried the eggs perfectly and the flavor was so good. The mole is not super sweet, which I really like. My mom had the chilaquiles burrito and she said it was really good too. I only wish the birria de chivo had more meat, it had great flavor but the meat seemed to mostly be fat. The cafe de olla had a wonderful taste. They have a ridiculously good tiramisu and their chocoflan and churros are good as well. Excellent service, amazing taste, cute spot, and family owned!!!!!!...
