Best BBQ I’ve had in forever!

We were driving through on the way from the Bay Area to Turlock, for my godson’s soccer game, and we decided to stop for dinner. I saw “Texas BBQ” and decided this should be it, and I’m so glad I did. To be clear, I’m originally from Texas and grew up eating my grandfather’s amazing BBQ, so I’m very picky about it. I haven’t had anything nearly as good since moving to California over 16 years ago, but this place has broken that streak.

I ordered the 2 meat plate with brisket and tri tip, with potato salad and charro beans on the side. In addition, my friend ordered the Porky Butt (pulled pork) sandwich, and the kids got the 1/2 lb of brisket with fries, with a cornbread waffle for the table.

Universal opinion from everyone is that the food was amazing. However, 3 of us declared that the brisket was the best, tender and very juicy, the crust on it was flavorful, with a slightly crusty texture, with no trace of a burnt flavor. The fourth person preferred the tri tip, his usual favorite, because it didn’t have the small traces of fat that made the brisket so juicy and tender. Before I scare anyone away with the idea of fat on the brisket, there wasn’t a ton of it. I can’t handle the texture of large pieces of fat, but the amounts on the brisket weren’t problematic for me. As for the sandwich, I didn’t get a bite, but my friend was raving about how it was probably the best pulled pork she’s had in memory.

As for the food, I’d rank the best thing as the cornbread waffle (cute, in the shape of Texas, wish I’d remembered to take pics before we ate), the fries were super crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the potato salad was good (I prefer it with more mustard, though), then the charro beans, which were good, but everything else was better.

I highly recommend stopping here for a meal if you’re...

I usually read the negative reviews for food places first to get an idea of how critical some people are of food places but I had nothing but a great meal and experience. Was greeted as I walked in. It was busy but was told they would be right with me. Service was great, was told how long my order would take. Think they may have even gotten it to me faster than quoted. Got the 3 meat plater and bbq was delicious. Great seasoning and smoke ring but they don’t over power it and let the meat flavor ring through. Had brisket, ribs, and tri-tip with the macaroni salad and green beans. Everything was tender, cooked well, great moisture. Favorite’s were the green beans and the tri-tip, their spices had a good pepper flavor that went well with the wood smoke they use. Not sure why they had any negative reviews but having just moved to Los Banos I will definitely be going back to try the other meats and sides on the menu....

The food is delicious. There is no denying that. I ordered a Biggins plate and when I was done it didn't even look like I ate anything. This plate is built for 3 people easily. My wife had the tri-tip sandwich and she loved it. The only draw back was the menu was not informative. That Biggins plate isn't on the menu. I would start my menu with that item. It's not cheap, but man it is worth it. Every penny. I also wish the menu was more legible. It's actually cut off when you are viewing it. You would think this might not be a place that is any good just on that alone. I swear that is not the case. The link was a perfect amount of spicy. The pulled pork was good and I like the fact that they added a few pieces of fat. The tri tip had a perfect smoke ring as did the ribs. The brisket was tender as was all the meats. Can't wait to go back and try the rib eye that they make...

Came in on a Sunday evening. The place was not too busy but got busy after we arrived. They were out of a lot of things. Only meats available were tri tip, ribs, and chicken. Was looking forward to trying one of the appetizers but all out of that too. Maybe need to go earlier? The place was clean and the decor was nice. I'm very big on customer service and this place was lacking in that area. Didn't greet us and the owner was worried about the couple that came in after us. The wait for our food took a while. When he brought it to us he didn't apologize for the wait or even ask if we needed anything or to enjoy that food. But he made sure to apologize to the couple after us for the wait for their food. I guess I didn't really enjoy the food after that. Who would if they don't feel welcomed? A simple how are you and enjoy the food goes a long way after spending $80.

The food at Biggins Texas BBQ never disappoints. They currently offer outdoor dining as well as take out. My family has tried just about everything on the menu & there's nothing we don't like. We enjoy getting the Biggins plate which provides our family 3 meats & 3 sides. Just enough for all of us to share. We most especially enjoyed the pork eggs rolls with the jalapenos & cheese. My mouth is watering just thinking about how tasty they are. All their meats have just the right amount of smokey flavor. (6 meats to choose from). The owners are very hospitable & provide everyone a welcome feeling. The hog wild fries are a treat for your tastebuds. Thanks to the people pictured in the photo for allowing me to share their photo for this review. Stay at the restaurant for indoor / outdoor dining OR if you prefer, order your food to go.

This is an amazing and surprising find! We weren’t around the area to go to Biggin’s. We were just driving by and wanted a pit stop. So we decided to give this place a try. The chopped chicken is so deliciously good! It was done so nice with the right amount of bbq sauce. The bun is so fluffy and soft. The folks there are nice and welcoming. And people, if you are reading this review, please know that they are serving slow smoked bbq food. It takes time to prepare good food. So don’t rush them and just wait patiently for yours. You won’t be disappointed. I am saving this place as my go to place each time I need to drive by this area.
