El Gordo Taco — Restaurant in Los Banos

If you’re looking for a great spot for California-style Mexican food, El Gordo Taco is worth checking out. They offer a variety of tacos, burritos, tortas, and birria, so there’s plenty to choose from.

I had their regular carne asada burrito, which came packed with rice, beans, onion, cilantro, and hot sauce. The flavors were well-balanced, giving a satisfying taste in every bite. I paired it with their horchata, which tasted genuinely homemade and refreshing—not like the pre-made mixes at other places.

Conveniently located across the street from the Love’s truck stop and next to Subway, it’s a great find for those traveling along I-5. The friendly cashier added to the pleasant experience. I’ll definitely be back to explore more...

This place might not look like much but it is amazing. Essentially just a trailer/food truck that they set up in a more permanent way. Nothing fancy but let me tell you, I've been all over the country and this place has the best tacos I've had and its not even close. Any time I am passing through, I can't help but stop in to grab a few Quesabirria tacos and a large Jamaica Agua fresca. There are a few tables outside if the weather is nice. This is our favorite taco truck of all time, which is inconvenient, as we live nowhere near Santa Nella, so only get there 1–3 times a year. Super-tasty vegetarian burritos and tacos on fresh, homemade tortillas served by the friendliest people! Great aguas frescas as well.
