This is a small gem hidden in Los Fresnos.
My wife and I stopped here literally almost on accident....but we decided to step in and try the food.
When you step in, you literally feel the mom and pop vibe...the mother cooking in the back while her kids are the one taking orders.
The building does feel a little old...so it has a hole in the wall atmosphere.
I ordered carne guisada and my wife had enchiladas. My wife loved her enchiladas... didn't want to share. The carne guisada was good...it had the right amount of sauce but I was expecting deeper flavor...maybe it needed a little more salt.
The star of the dish were their flour tortillas...made fresh...and about a foot wide. All you need is one and you will be content!
This place is also really budget friendly...
My wife and I are definitely stopping by again when we pass by...
Read moreWe found this gem while on our way back home from South Padre Island and to say that this is the BEST mexican food ive ever had is an understatement. You absolutely MUST try one of their tacos, their tortillas are fresh made in house and they are MASSIVE. You only need 2 tacos to be full but why would you want to do that when the prices are so reasonable here for the portions. If you want authentic Mexican please dont hesitate to stop here, I will definitely be back whenever I visit South Padre...
