Ok. I am going to be fair. I wish they had a mechanism for feedbacks but this place is the only place to provide feedback.
The good: Bay club Courtside in Los Gatos is generally good. It is huge, looks like a nice hotel and has a good vibe for professionals and people who want to stay in shape, it is not a place for puffed up bodybuilders and people who constantly show off. The pool and Jacuzzi is so nice the tennis courts nicer but you have to pay extra to use them. The classes are good but limited for after working hours.
The bad:
There are many cardio machines but not many essential strengths workout machine. Some don't even exist, can you believe there is no Inner And Outer Thigh Machine??? Why?
The towels are bad quality, have stains sometimes and are very small and thin. I prefer getting only 2,3 towels at the front door with better quality rather than having unlimited towels with this quality. People use towels to stand barefoot while changing clothes, they take 4,5 to the shower they do everything. I think working on the quality is better than having the unlimited quantity.
Showers: BAD! Not good for the expensive so called classy Bay Club. They are old, dirty, gross, hair everywhere, I am grossed out every time. Please upgrade your showers, install new functional hand showers so that people can use it to clean the floor after they shower. They cannot do that now because it is a fix head shower only. It is just GROSS!
Shampoo, body wash, conditioner, all horrible quality. They smell bad. We don't expect expensive shampoo but at least something that smells better.
Very old looking Carpets in the gym upstairs and downstairs. General cleanness of the locker room shower and bathroom is not at the standard quality. Hiring only 2 more people in cleaning staff would help this. I don't see cleaning people regularly clean showers. I only see a couple of ladies taking the towels only. How often do you clean the showers and take the disgusting hair clumps? Whatever it is, it is not enough.
In general, if Bay Club keeps the gym cleaner , do some upgrades for carpets, floors walls and adds the essential workout machines that are missing and most importantly upgrade and remodel the showers with hand showers and keep them clean, the gym would...
Read moreATTENTION: GO ANYWHERE BESIDES THIS PLACE! My treatment makes me really doubt Matthew Stevens. I just took some time out of my valuable time to take a quick look to sign up my whole company to this poserish prominence of a gym. The front desk said "oh let me see if someone can tour you around", after a quick check they said every single person that could give me a tour was too busy and if you want to workout you have to wait. I said I don't want to workout I just simply said want to do a "quick walk-thru" so I can see what the place looks like. I wouldn't have cared if someone accompanied me while I took a quick look, but they seemed to be too busy refreshing their Instagram over and over. They said "NO WE CAN'T DO THAT" and I said oh okay "SO THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TYPE OF PLACES" and they said "YES!". Very nice business model.
Being born and raised in the Bay Area, with a high impact on the art, skate, music, fashion and real estate scene, as well as a contributor to employment through my businesses it's really sad that our community does not stand by one another. I was attempting to bring in 20 new members from my businesses and after this type of treatment I'd rather go to any other local gym that will appreciate my business. One simple act of kindness would have changed my whole outlook on this Bay Club Courtside, but looks like their care for potential customers is draining down the river of silicon sadness.
Of course no one should be bushed off, but maybe do some research before you brush of individuals who would help your business, although maybe it doesn't need help... until it does. Good luck mates and so sorry you treated one of your own the way you did!
(NOTE TO BAY CLUB COURTSIDE: I've seen all of your generic previous responses to your multitude of 1 STAR reviews, please keep your generic non genuine response to yourself. Let's be humans to one another, not robots)
UPDATE: As predicted Manny.Munoz@bayclubs.com gave me the most generic response that is given to every single 1 Star review that I'm sure was...
Read moreI joined Bay Club because public tennis courts in the Bay Area are notoriously hard to find. When I saw they had a reservation system for tennis courts, I thought I would no longer need to stress about court availability. So I didnât hesitate to join the Club West Gold tier which supposedly offers the best experience in the reservation system with advanced booking.
Unfortunately, more than once Iâve shown up to my reserved court only to find USTA matches still going on. When I politely pointed out that it was my booked time, the players on court dragged their feet before leaving, while their teammates on the sidelines booed or cursed at me for daring to exercise my reservation. Thatâs not just poor manners. Thatâs blatant bullying, and it makes the whole experience feel hostile.
I understand part of this is individual behavior, but letâs not pretend management has no responsibility. Clearly, nobody is telling these players the rules, and there are zero consequences for hogging courts past their time. The reservation system becomes meaningless, and members get caught in the middle.
And after reading other membersâ reviews, I realized this kind of bully behavior isnât limited to the tennis courts. It happens at the pool as well. Which makes me reasonably suspect that management isnât just failing to enforce rules, but actively tolerating this environment across the club.
To be fair, the hardware here is solid. The tennis courts themselves are good quality, the gym is well equipped, and the recovery room is actually quite nice. But all of that gets overshadowed by the hostile environment created by unchecked bullying and poor enforcement. No amount of shiny facilities can make up for a culture that makes members feel unwelcome.
Bay Club: where you pay premium prices to be bullied in a...
