The manager is incredibly disrespectful to job seekers. My wife answered a Craigslist ad that asked her to show up at Brasa between 2 and 4, so naturally she arrived dressed for an interview. Without introducing himself or asking her name, the manager gave her a job application and told her to come back at 3 the next day dressed in all black. Did that mean she was hired? That she was getting a trial? That there would be another interview? He didn't say. So she showed up the next day at 3, dressed in all black in the Louisiana July heat, and waited for another half hour for the manager to arrive. When he got there he glanced at her job application and said, "Okay, we'll talk tomorrow." She was stunned and asked if there was going to be an interview. He actually told her to GET OUT. I can't believe how clueless Brasa's management is about working people's time, money, and effort. In the summer all of the tourist industries in New Orleans slow down and people get laid off. Working people are struggling to make ends meet, and Brasa thinks it can make them waste hours of their time and gallons of their gas driving back and forth between the restaurant's very inconvenient location on long, two-lane, stoplight-ridden Metairie Road? And then the manager asked my wife to dress up for him, to show up in the clothes he asked for, just so he could send her home? In his sadist heart he must have gotten a thrill from that similar to a rape. Don't spend your money at a business that treats the working...
Read moreGreat South American dining experience. Steaks were cooked perfectly, wait staff were warm and inviting, we were seated right away for our reservation, and the food was all around pretty good. Recommended to anyone looking for a good South American steakhouse. The avocado asado is something I’ve never had before, and it was delicious. There were plenty of people coming in to sit at the bar, and the other dining side seemed to be pretty full, but our food came out hot and without issue. Only issue we had was with the payment, which was taken care of after leaving with a quick phone call. Was assured through photos and texts that everything was taken care of for the restaurant, wait staff, and myself. Issues can arise, but it was really nice to have confirmation of everything (with the option of picking up the new receipt the following day).
We decided to try this place since Baru is a favorite of ours. We’re glad that we did because now we have a new, classy place to enjoy a meal. They were also really accommodating with a delicious piece of blueberry, chocolate, and marshmallow cake, since our reservation stated our meal was for a birthday. Big thank you to Brasa for the great...
Read moreMy wife and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary dinner. I'll start by saying that the food we ate was delicious. We started with the fried brussel sprouts for an appetizer. I ordered the 16 oz ribeye and my wife ordered the wagu steak. Our sides were augratin potatoes and mushrooms which we never tasted, because they forgot to bring them to us with the steaks. We had finished our steaks by the time they brought the sides to the table. So we requested go boxes for the sides. Oh I forgot, we waited at least a half-hour from when we finished eating our appetizer till the time we got our steaks. Our waitress apologized several times for the delay. I must say our waitress was very nice and sweet. I realized it was not her fault, they must have had problems in the kitchen. She was apologetic and very embarrassed by not bringing out our sides with the meal. We did finish with a complimentary s'mores pie for dessert. I really don't want to give them a bad review because the food we did eat was very good. I'm taking off a star for the...
