China Taste — Restaurant in Louisiana

2018 Update: China Taste used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant with a 5-star rating but not anymore. Ownership changed hands in 2018 and it’s just not the same.

Our favorite dish was the General Tso. It used to be a generous portion with lightly breaded pieces of chicken. Now it’s mostly breading with almost no real chicken and the taste is just off. We also used to love the Crab Rangoon’s but now they just don’t taste good (a little “fishy”). We haven’t been back to try other other menu items but, based on conversations with friends, the changes appear to be across the menu.

How unfortunate that the new ownership changed so much for the worst. China Taste is pretty much a neighborhood restaurant tucked away in River Ridge. It was a local favorite but most of my friends and neighbors who also frequented it have moved on as well.

This place leads the way for Chinese food! Made fresh and steaming, when you order it. Such quality for amazing prices is hard to find. I am so glad they are in the neighborhood. I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup which is a personal favorite of mine, but they made it like I've never had, full of FRESH mushrooms, tofu, shoots, and was not too salty like most places. When I was in college, I use to frequent this restaurant; I always bought two egg rolls from them. Today, I decided to ride to River Ridge and purchase a few egg rolls. I bought several for my family, three pork and three shrimp. The egg rolls were bad and inferior(meatless); the cabbage inside the egg rolls wasn't cooked.
