Yesterday was my first time in Haughton. I drove out to take a class. After my class I decided that I wanted to get crawfish for lunch and I chose to go to this establishment. I checked google and maps to see what time they opened. They open up at 3pm. I arrived at 3:05pm and they were opened but did not have any food ready. The lady who rung me up at the cash register said it would be a 15-20 minute wait. I was fine with that wait time. She said they had to cook the crawfish. Fifteen minutes is a reasonable wait time but I winded up waiting an hour for my order. An entire hour. Majority of the employees here were really nice except for one young man. When it was time for me to receive my order I noticed it seemed mighty small for two pounds so I asked for another pound. Mind you when I first came in I was told the crawfish were $5.49 a pound but I was rung up for $5.97 for my third pound and I did not receive the full pound at that. There it was at 4pm I was receiving my order and they still didn’t hardly have any food ready when their business opens at 3pm. I told the young man who rung me up last that I had been there for a whole hour and he seemed to not care at all. His response was “you came kind of early” I told him that online It says their business opens at 3pm. If the business was not open then how was I able to walk in and get my order taken. If it would have been explained to me that I would have been waiting an hour for my food I would’ve left instead of being told it would be 15 to 20min and waiting after I have been charged. There was no compassion offered, no discount, no apologies , just nothing. This business needs to change their hours. It seems they get ready on their own time instead of when they really open. Business time needs to be changed to 5pm opening instead of 3pm so customers won’t waste their time. I worked at a restaurant for two years and we don’t decide to start preparing the food at opening time , we get it prepped before hand. The crawfish were kind of high but I don’t mind paying for good food but to go up on the price after I’ve been waiting for an hour is ridiculous. Nothing was offered due to me waiting so long. If I had not payed upfront with card I would’ve left and went to my hometown. Do not blame the customer,...

Crawfish was good but customer service was terrible. I still don't know my server's name. She never introduced herself to anyone in the party. Some friends did not think their shrimp was fully cooked because they were hard to peel. After the server returned with nothing in her hands she said the manager and staff peeled them with ease so they are taking them off of their ticket. Its not the fact that they came to that conclusion on their own. If I ordered shrimp dont tell me your taking them off my ticket. I ordered shrimp. You didn't. I did. Then instead of her giving us the chance to tip her she adds gratuity to everyone's ticket. Look I was a server and I tip according to service. LA should really do away with auto grat because some servers will give shitty service just because they know they are getting paid. Thank you Crawfish Palace for a wonderful evening! NOT! If you don't know your tax then you might get over charged...

When I travel I love to try local restaurants as I find they usually represent a town well.. I recently visited Crawfish Palace restaurant. When I arrived there the first thought I had was, why am I in Louisiana? After that initial thought I decided to taste the local cuisine. I was greeted by a friendly person who was happy to get me seated and start me off with a cold beverage. They had a few good options of cold beer on tap so I started with that. The next step was to rethink why I picked such a place when I have a severe allergy to shellfish. Who knew a place called Crawfish Palace would have so many seafood options and not much along the lines of pizza or Mexican food. I stuck with my tap beer and decided to pass on the food. Friendly place, probably good food if you're into small sea creatures. My recommendation is to totally ignore my review and either read other reviews or just try it...

I thought all people from Louisiana knew how to cook crawfish but boy was I wrong. First off, there was only seasoning on the outside of the crawfish, not on the actual meat. I had an ice cold crawfish while the rest was piping hot. The potatoes tasted like they were cooked in a completely different boil. The menu online shows that there’s a full bar but don’t let that deceive you, it’s pretty much empty with maybe 5 different bottles. They are “a real southern place” but didn’t even have sweet tea. If you want lemons make sure to bring your own, I would bring your own butter too while you’re at it unless you like the taste of canola oil. The crawfish was also extremely over cooked. You couldn’t pull the meat out of the tail without it literally crumbling. Our server was also rude. The cook must be from up north, and the locals that like that place need to try crawdaddy’s kitchen. It’s worth the drive.

Food was great! The crawfish are big and cooked perfectly! They are full of flavor but not so hot(spicy hot) you can't eat & enjoy them. We also tried their boudin and it, too, was very good. We WILL be back! Update: MAKE SURE TO VERIFY THE PRICE if you are looking at the Crawfish App. That got us this trip. The crawfish app showed a price drop to $5.98 a pound so we drove the 5 hours to get here only to find out the REAL price was $7.99 a pound. The $5.98 price was apparently ONLY for "to go orders". That $2 a pound might not seem like much, but when we eat roughly 45-50 pounds per trip, over 2 or 3 days, that adds another $90-$100 to our trip. We could have gotten them to go, but we like to order smaller amounts at a time so we can eat them before they get cold.

Crawfish season is a pretty big thing in Louisiana but wasn’t listed. The parking lot was intimidating at first I thought we’d have to wait an hour or so but the crew at crawfish palace were pros and as busy as they were they were all very welcoming and friendly and you can order your crawfish with as much or as little seasoning as you like and it didn’t appear to stress anyone out and I felt very comfortable there and we weren’t there but like 20 minutes. The crawfish was so good too. I would absolutely recommend it to everyone who loves crawfish. I saw people of all ages and everyone was smiling. It was a great experience and we will be back for sure. A special thanks to all the staff because they were all very helpful and kind.
