Denny's — Restaurant in Louisiana

My first experience at this Dennys, I placed an order over the phone to be picked up at the drive thru. When I got there, I told the lady at the window that I had an order for pick up and gave my name. She stared at me for about10 seconds as if I had 6 heads. She finally turns around and yells loudly at someone named Forrest if they had taken my order over the phone. He stands there and just nods as in yes. She left the window and came back after a minute or two and said "He forgot to turn it in" then just stared at me for a response. After an awkward 10 seconds of silence I said OK and waited for her to apologize or offer to make it right by cooking my meal and maybe a discount or on the house due to their mistake. But alas, no such luck. She turned around and yelled to Forrest "she don't want it anymore" and proceeded to state at me some more. So I just looked at her and said OK and drove off. Im all about giving the benefit of the doubt so... I ordered online this time. My daughter went to the drive through and picked up our food. I thought well at least this time I got my food. Let me just say... I would rather have not. I know Dennys is more known for their breakfast but if its on the menu you should know how to cook it. My order: Chicken fried chicken- was so tough I couldn't cut it. Was probably microwaved to death. Hashbrowns- tasted like burnt old grease. Red mashed potatoes tasted so bad I had to drown in gravy to be able eat. Didnt eat them though. My daughter had the salmon which was so fishy. A very few (4pcs) of sparse broccoli stems and those same horrible red mashed potatoes. We ordered the panookie for dessert. I thought how can you screw that up? Well.... you can burn the cookie so badly we could smell it through the container upon taking it out of the bag. The only thing edible was the ice cream. Dennys I gave you a second chance! Sorry to say our experience was not good we food out thatvthe Best Waitress they had they let go.We will no longer eat there since they let Merry go. She trained workers and still waited on tables she was great. And to our shock the last person she trained got her job. Shame on Denny's for using people like that. We Will NOT BE GOING BACK TO DENNY'S. THEY DONT APPRECIATE THE PEOPLE WHO WORK HARD FOR THEM. YOU JUST LOST OUR BUSINESS. MERRY WAS BEST a very great experience with Merry as our waitress. Can't say enough good things about Merry. She is the absolute best waitress we have ever had at Dennys. She always knows what we drink gets it ASAP and such a wonderful pleasure to see when we come to Dennys if she was to leave we would have to find where and go there to eat. Sad to say but we will no longer be going to Denny's any longer. They let go Nerrt the young woman whonwas so great at her job. She was only reason we kept going everyday. They used her to train new people to work then justvlet her go. We will not be going back since Merry is no longer there. I would advise others to use Waffle House or Cracker Barrell. Denny's seem to not care about the workers they hire especially the ones who work so hard. You just lost us and our family from coming to eat there they don't respect the people who work hard for them. Haven't been to a Denny's in several years, food was very good and server was very friendly and efficient. The only issue, and I mean the only issue I had was that I asked for brown gravy on my chicken fried steak and I got white gravy. I didn't say anything because I like white gravy as well, just not like brown gravy. I pointed it out to the server when I paid and she was very, very apologetic about it. I would go back to this Denny's in a heartbeat. Edit: I went back early this morning, I was the ONLY customer in the entire restaurant, and they messed up my order again. I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes and wild rice, I got mashed potatoes and fried potatoes. It's not like they got my order mixed up with someone else's cause I was the only one there as I said. I called and told them about it cause I ordered to go. She apologized and said they'll get it right the next time, no they won't cause I won't be going back. Watch your order if you go, especially if it's a to go order. I'll go to Waffle House across the street from now on, no more sloppy...
