Gerald's Donuts — Restaurant in Louisiana

Happy to make your acquaintance Mrs. 24 hour donut & burger establishment.

I will admit, how I came to visit, was that I phoned in an order and didn't receive all of the items I ordered, so putting in a call, I was offered FREE DONUTS, hence the reason for the in person visit. We were provided a half dozen of free donuts for the inconvenience of missing food items. So on this particular day yeah, I journeyed in to make good on those free donuts. And oh, to my surprise, I've found a 24-hour eatery in this post-Covid world.

It is quintessentially important to know of places like this to eat.

I found the staff to be understaffed, and the wait time was a little longer than it should've been considering I was the only person in the place, less the patron on the bar stool that was watching TV; but isn't that the norm nowadays. However, when I was greeted and advised of the selections avail to me. The young lady was more than helpful. She advised me of what my choices were, and quickly bagged them up for me to head out the door; another stick and move caper, I'm proud to announce.

The donuts were very tasty, light and fluffy, and considering it was the middle of the day, because this is when I went, they still were fresh. As a matter of fact, I can recall seeing her coming in and out with trays of donuts, so it seems like they cook and prepare donuts on a regular basis, YESSSS!!!! This makes me happy. I love donuts. Donuts are good at any time of the day don't you agree?

I found the pricing to be fair. Pretty much in line with standard pricing...

Three stars bc they were nice in the brief moment at the window, no waiting, we could order online and we did eat our food after all and it tastes well.

That being said I need to express two things to this kitchen.

1. if you're going to fry onions into onion rings with a batter, please for the love of onions don't put those cooked onion rings in a styrofoam container and then wrap them and tie them into a plastic bag. The steam ruins the breading and I come home with a pile of steamed onions and half crispy/soggy onion breader.

The ones I got were fine enough but I'm being nice bc they were good enough with ketchup. Honestly for diner rings they'd be fine on a table but as a to go option it's a complete waste if you want someone to be happy with o rings.

2. I found a gd produce sticker in my sandwich still stick to the tomatoe (photo). I mean I get that veggies have stickers, but jc could you have just saved me from maybe not eating paper in a sandwich? Glad I caught it but come on y'all, fruit stickers? I'm not gordan Ramsey but that's just ameteur af.

3 stars bc it tasted ok an, but the staff is relying on its ingredients to carry the meal but the mayo packet from Sysco tells me that wasn't very hard to accomplish so take it with a grain of salt.

EDIT: 3 stars to 2 stars because they forgot our drinks. Usually I would never but seriously my only thing I was really into was the service and I just realized what happened.

If you're thinking it would be cool to eat here I would...

Just wanted to say how awesome Brittany, Alexa, and Alecia are at Gerald’s Donuts in Arabi! They’re always so sweet, super helpful, and just really fun to chat with. You can tell they really care about the customers and make you feel right at home every time you walk in.

The place is always clean, the vibes are great — and don’t even get me started on the breakfast… it’s so good! If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re seriously missing out. Thanks, ladies, for always making my mornings better!

I also wanted to add that Chef Bo is hands-down the best cook at Gerald’s Donuts. His donuts are legendary, his breakfasts are unbeatable, and everything he makes comes with a side of good vibes.

Not only is he a kitchen wizard, he’s also the #1 49ers fan in town — repping red and gold with pride. And even as a die-hard Niners guy,

Gerald’s wouldn’t be the same without Bo. Great food, great energy — he's the real MVP.

Jessica is one of the best parts of going to Gerald’s Donuts. She’s always in a great mood, super friendly, and just has this way of making your day better. You can tell she really enjoys what she does, and her positive attitude is seriously contagious. Even on a rough morning, she’ll have me smiling before I even take a bite of my donut. She’s the kind of person every place...
