This place is Ok!

It is not and will not be my first stop, Ever!

I had a couple of flies trying to eat with me, and all, and I do mean all the tables were nasty, but he did come to clean them off when we asked. So I do give thumbs up to customer service.

On the other hand, they need someone else to cook! the food was not good. the only thing I liked was the fish and Tenders. Even though they were cold. He told me that the meat was cold because the lamps were out. So I waited till a new batch came out and they were also cold.

I wanted so bad to like the place but it does not live up to a "good food" restaurant.

Just to put it simply...there is a Popeyes across the street.

Not saying I won't go back, I'm just going to give it some time to catch up to the flavor train. Then I will go back and re-review.

Those MEATBALLS ARE NASTY! THAT IS NOT HAMBURGER MEAT! Did you guys see the livers? HOW BLACK THEY WERE! I WON'T BE EATING THOSE! The MAC AND CHEESE was OK!

This place reminded me of and tasted like Chicken Express, and Chicken Express was better.

IT IS STILL THE SAME! THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE TENDERS WERE HOT.

THE PLACE WAS ONLY FULL OF WORKERS. ITS IS JUST NOT GOOD!

IT WAS A WAIST.

My mom and dad told me they went and the chicken was so good. I said ok maybe they read reviews and fixed things. HELL NAW!

It's good for old people (soft food) and kids. And workers who need to eat.

Like I said before, Popeyes is cross the street and Southern Classic is up the street. This was the last time I will visit this place.

I CAN'T BELIEVE I WANTED TO REVIEW THIS PLACE instead of...

So sad! When they first opened, they were great! Food, service, everything was A+. For a time, we ate there at least twice a week. But, we hadn't been in for a while, so we really looked forward to today's visit; however, we found most of the food was almost gone, even though it was 6:00pm on a weekday. And what was left was crusty and almost cold. We served our plates as best we could and began to eat. Until... we found some black bugs in the coleslaw and noticed flies buzzing around the buffet and at the tables. Not to make a scene, we went to the front and quietly mentioned it to the lady behind the counter, but she glared, took the plate with the black bugs in the slaw and threw it in the trash, then said they were aware of the flies and would check on it. When we said, again quietly, that we were concerned about it being sanitary, she told us if it bothered us, we should just stay at home. What in the world? This is their version of customer service? We spoke to her quietly, politely and privately. But in truth, most of the food pans on the buffet were almost empty, workers were standing idly behind the register playing with their cell phones, what food remained was cold and getting hard. Who is minding the store? Where are the managers or owners? It's so disappointing! Today, it was literally a health hazard, and we used to love that place! We discarded our plates and simply left, as she suggested. And, we'll have to think long and hard before we consider going back or suggesting it to anyone else. What a shame, Please Hartz, check it out! We need a decent family restaurant...

I have gone to this location on a few occasions as it is nearest to my home (even though it is still quite a few miles away). This time was the last time. I ordered, as I always do, chicken livers and at first I was ignored by the staff. Then some young girl comes to the register giving me a look of actual repulsion and said “I can help you?” then walked off as I paid. I sat and waited then some other woman put my order on the counter and tried to walk off and I told her have a nice day and she just said “ ok”. Fast forward to getting home. Oh god the livers were bitter. Like Robitussin or straight bile. We threw them away. It is a 30 minute drive there so I wasn’t going through all of that. I called, thinking surely they would try to make it right somehow. I explained my plight. The answer of the person on the phone:” Oh, I don’t know what happened. Sorry. “ then silence. I thought she hung up but no. I asked to speak to the manager. She suddenly says “oh he’s not here. He won’t be here and you need to bring it back if you want your money back.” Then hung up. That nasty chemical dump of a food order is in the garbage and I’ll never darken...

We stopped by to try the buffet. At 2pm, most of the dishes were fresh. The older food had fresher pans already being made. There wasn't a long line to go in but a few cars in the drive thru. A tv to watch and self serve soft drinks. The fried chicken tasted like churches chicken, the oven roasted chicken was lightly seasoned but good, veggies on the line were good, and the desserts were ok. The only thing I added salt & pepper to was my mash potatoes but there is white & brown gravy for it also. All of the chicken was tender and warm. My wife enjoyed the liver, gizzards, and the beans were good. The employees were friendly and talkative. The store appeared clean, tables were wiped down, and it did look like a old Dairy Queen store. Overall our experience was enjoyable and we would stop by again for a buffet meal.

This was my first time trying Hartz and to me it's just ok. Imagine gas station food as a buffet. There were a few highlights. The chicken tenders were fresh and cooked well. Having gravy to dip them in, is an added bonus and you get your choice of white or brown. Potatoes were served 5 ways mashed, fried, cubed, scalloped & as salad. My vegetable of choice was greens coupled with a corn muffin. The real highlight was the bread pudding I tried at the end was really the only thing that made my taste buds dance. The people are very friendly but this is what looks to be an old Dairy Queen building and the vibes are about the same. With a price tag of $16.20 I probably won't be back.
