I based my visit on the reviews as I'm not familiar with the area and felt like some seafood. I ordered the seafood platter with coleslaw, and jambalaya as my sides. For some strange reason my coleslaw was bought out 10 minutes before the rest of my meal, not a big deal, just a little odd.

When my food arrived I was disappointed to find everything was deep-fried, it was just a plate of brown, with no thought to making it look appetizing. At the very least it would have been nice to not have it all fried.

The fish was well-cooked and tasty, it was my favorite part of the dish. The shrimp were meh, same coating as the fish. The crab cake was unbelievably salty, so much so I couldn't finish it, it also tasted like it was coated with the same breading as the fish and shrimp. The breading was flavorful but when it's on everything, each item starts to taste the same. The jambalaya was flavorful, but overcooked and the coleslaw was store-bought.

The general appearance of the restaurant is tired, it looks like it hasn't been updated in 20 or more years with some strange decor items like a plastic wall-hanging featuring Disney's dwarfs from Snowwhite.

Overall my visit was disappointing and I'm not likely to return. With the source of fresh seafood right on their doorstep it's a shame they don't take the opportunity to make...

The cashier and lady at the front desk was extremely nice but your customers and waitress or all racist an made me an my friend feel very uncomfortable because once we came in it was very noisy like any restaurant or establishment but the second we went to sit down at a table all eyes on us and it was extremely quiet an everyone whispering and looking at us as if we will not allowed in the establishment so I immediately left because I didn't want to spend any money there and support anything like that I will not be patronizing this business because I feel like blacks aren't allowed you might as well put the sign up outside saying no blacks allowed if customers and waitresses treat guess or Black customers like this it shouldnt not be like that at all it's 2024 I thought we fought enough in this country for this to be over with at this time and day and age but clearly racism still exist right here in marrero...

A small quiet family owned restaurant that was recommended to us by our captain on the swamp tour and touted as a “very good place to eat authentic New Orleans” I would have to sadly disagree. The establishment gave a 1950’s type vibe both in aesthetic and the demographic of the patrons. As soon as we walked in all eyes were on us. It was pretty hot inside as the establishment does not have central AC. The rice in the gumbo was very undercooked, the jambalaya looked like it came out of an uncle Ben’s rice bag. The fried fish was cooked well, but lacked some seasoning. My shrimp and pasta with two crab stuff balls, was ok at best. The “crab” stuffed balls were deep fried stuffing with a crab flavoring. The best tasting thing we had was my kids fried shrimp and French fries. I would have honestly given the place 2 stars but our waitress was such a kind sweet soul and really elevated...
