Ate here today... I've been here before, but today got me to thinking about a few things... When you order and pay, you're asked to leave a tip... For what?... No one waits on your table... This is basically a fast food seafood joint... I don't tip at Wendy's, or any other place like that... Yes, someone brings your food out, then you are on your own... And when they come out the back, with your food, they have to look all over the dining area, to find the card that has a name on it, on your table... Anyone who says they have good service is lying... There is NO service, at this stop and eat... There is not a wait person who works your table, and insures your meal and experience are good... You get your own silver ware, your own drink (first one and all refills), your own lemon... And do not get seated by the drink station... I was bumped into nearly a half dozen times, my table was jarred 3 times, and my foot stepped on once, by customers trying to get to the drink station... Oysters were over cooked, shriveled, and the stuffed crab can be bought at many local groceries... Mine was over baked and dried out... I ordered coleslaw, got fried okra... They got me the coleslaw... Wasn't hard... They obviously only had to go into a fridge and grab a Styrofoam cup of it... They charge for extra tartar or cocktail sauce, like some fast food places do... A half decent restaurant does not charge for that... Yeah, like I said... Fast food seafood... Anyone who wants a good seafood meal, on the Northshore, in a good atmosphere, with great service, needs to go to Morton's in Madisonville... No one, in their right mind, would ever consider this as the best place to get seafood, on the Northshore... To me, this would be the last resort, if I wanted seafood, and nothing...

My husband and I have eaten here twice now. They are by far the best seafood restaurant in the Covington/Mandeville/Madisonville area that I've been to. The fish and shrimp are fresh and cleaned properly. The portion sizes are generous and everything is fried and served quickly. I had the shrimp po-boy on a previous visit, and it was delicious. The homemade onion rings are a must-have. The sweet tea was perfect and I enjoyed the friendly and laid-back atmosphere. The only thing I have to say that's a bit of a negative is the lack of spice/flavor. Don't get me wrong it's good seafood, but this is southern Louisiana at least put some pepper or something in the fry mix, put some onion or Jalepeno in the hush puppies, firm the corn nuggets up so they aren't so loose and soupy inside, and please do something with your fried okra because it's just sad, with just a few tweaks in the kitchen this place could be Really Great instead of just good. The only thing that was just inedible was the coleslaw, I'm not sure what happened but it tasted like chemicals so I didn't eat more after the initial bite.

The restaurant itself is nice enough, the tables are labeled with Snowball names so that's cute, the decor is simple and ocean based but tasteful and not overdone. It was clean, the staff was friendly, plenty of light and seating inside, and while it's definitely a casual place it's not unprofessional. I appreciated that since the table service is limited that everything one could ask for was already out and available to grab if you need it, even the to-go containers! I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot, but I think in future I may just buy their delicious seafood from the market and go home and fry it with my own seasoned...

Tried this spot after a friend recommended it.

The parking was a mess because it's not that big, but I made a spot because there were literally no spots. Don't worry, I didn't block anyone in. Oh, and be prepared, it's rocks.

The front is the marketplace, and then off to the side is the restaurant. It was very spacious.

You order first, and then they assign you a table. It's Mardi Gras season, so all the tables were assigned a float name. That was different. I understand that whatever the season, the tables are named accordingly.

The aroma of the food hit your nose as soon as you enter the restaurant, so you're definitely ready to order.

The restaurant was clean, there were workers everywhere so you definitely shouldd get any problems addressed quickly. It's almost like a self-serve. The drinks are off to the side, and the silverware is where the drinks are.

They bring your food to the table so you're not standing there waiting. There is a TO GO area if you're not eating there.

The food was delicious, seasoned just right, and the oysters were one of the best fried I've had in a while.. i enjoyed everything I had, although my husband did have one shrimp that tasted nasty. The best way he described it was that it tasted STANK but it was only one of the shrimp.

It wasn't greasy fried, so that was a plus, and everything was a golden color. The double plus was that you can actually share the seafood platter. It was actually enough for 2 ppl, and I did bring some home.

I would recommend this spot for some...

We decided to give this local seafood restaurant a try and I’m so glad we did! When you go in there is a small store where you can buy various Cajun dishes and meats, they also have their own seasonings and a few small knickknacks to take back with you. My husband and I ordered two bowls of the gumbo (no oysters just shrimp and crab) and it was rather delicious. We then shared the shrimp plate with fries while the kiddos had shrimp and chicken tenders. Everything was very scrumptious. The restrooms were very clean and they had fun decor all over to look at while waiting for your food. You order before you sit to get your drinks and such. The tables have cute little names for them instead of numbers. Handicap accessible parking and a ramp to get inside. I highly recommend checking it out if you are just passing or even a local! Thanks for the awesome, friendly service! Can’t wait to come back for one of those giant po’boys!!

Was spending time at Fontainebleau State Park and that put me in the mood for seafood so Mandeville Seafood Market seemed to fit the bill. This place, as well as the whole north side of the Lake, feels pretty off the beaten path for tourists like myself which is a good thing. Overall tasty food with huge portions at good prices. Especially the fried oysters, so good. My friend did a whole crawfish boil and was happy with it. My only complaint is the whole setup and the menu were a little confusing, seated by a hostess but ordering at the window. Also I didn't realize everything I ordered would come fried but I'd never complain about that, just make sure to ask what you're getting beforehand! I have to note, this is one of the cleanest restaurants I've seen in a long time, every inch of that building was spotless, which is definitely something I notice more these days. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.
