Donut King — Restaurant in Louisiana

EDIT: WOW. So I have to say, I had been coming here for some time to get donuts and am almost embarrassed to say so. On my last visit, a large older gentleman who identified himself as the owner was very rude and condescending to a couple of the kids that were working behind the counter about an issue in the drive through part. It was very “off putting” as kids shouldn’t be spoken to like that. He ended their conversation with “go help that guy” motioning towards me. While I wasn’t happy about it, I purchased donuts and, as almost always, went to drop a couple of dollars in the tip jar. The kid that helped me said “don’t do that, he (owner) just takes it all and puts it in the register anyway”. Never again will I visit this place, not because of the food or staff but because of the greed of the owner himself. I’m headed to Krummels and I suggest you do the same.

ORIGINAL: The donut buying experience was FANTASTIC! I went there with my son on Sunday the 30th. There was a young man working the counter with a few ladies. He served us and was hands down the most professional person I had ever met working at a donut shop. The level of his service is what prompted me to write this review for you. I will be coming back because of him. The only item I find "odd" is the fact that you don't take credit cards. The fees are miniscule in comparison to the increase in ticket average that you will see. It's 100% proven that people spend more money when using credit cards over cash. Might be a penny smart, dollar foolish...

Absolutely excellent establishment. Awesome staff every time I've been they are welcoming, helpful, friendly, and so kind. My nieces request every year because they get invited behind the counter and can fill a bag with as many donuts as they can fit - any and all - no questions asked. It is an experience worth the time, and the quality, flavor, and price is worth it every other day of the year. I live in Houston now, but I make a point to stop by when I'm in town.

Other noteworthy - clean bathrooms and inside, patio seating, great variety and selection. ALWAYS delicious and fresh. they have a drive through too!

Awesome CS as per usual. Went in to let my 5 year old do her free donut grab. She wanted a Sprite and I only had a card because I didn't realize they didn't accept cards. I told her we would stop at the gas station and get a drink on the way to school. Well, we didn't have to make that stop. They gave her the Sprite along with her full bag of donuts, free of charge. We love this place and my daughters truly enjoy getting to fill their own bag of donuts every year on their birthday. Everyone is always incredibly friendly and they go out of their way to make the kids feel super special on...
