I remember this place being really good when we used to eat here years ago, but was not happy with a single item today except maybe the iced tea!
The side salad that came with the meal had a bowl so small it was already spilling out before you tried to cut it up! Of course when you did cut it half spilled out. The quality of the salad so so poor I only had a few bites! The lettuce was in chunks and hard with no green color! The cucumber was also so hard you could hardly cut it with a knife and had a funny flavor as well.
The stuffed pepper I was hoping was going to be great, it wasn't. It looked old and dried up and had zero taste. It was stuffed with some whole shrimp that didn't even taste like shrimp, and actually had no taste. The "stuffing" was mostly bread crumbs and also had no flavor?? I don't even know how they can make a stuffed item with no flavor at all. My wife had the stuffed mirliton and seemed to have the exact same tasteless stuffing!
The green beans side item looked and tasted like they opened a store brand can and dumped them in a pot!
Even the side sweet potatoes, which the waiter raved about, has a strong spice taste which I didn't recognize or care for.
I'm sorry it appears like a didn't like anything but it's 100% true. Oh, like I said the unsweetened iced...
Read moreWe have been big fans of Mr. Ed’s since we discovered it years ago. Although we do not live in the area, we have enjoyed the delicious food and service many times.
My sister who is recovering from her third time with cancer and heart surgery less than a week ago, wanted to celebrate her birthday there today. From our previous visits, I knew that reservations were not taken, however, concerned of being exposed to illnesses, not just Covid, I called to see if a table could be reserved in a corner. The hostess connected me to Jerry to verify that this could not be accommodated. I can’t say he was rude, but he was adamant that it could not be done. Did not even ask for specifics.
In today’s world, with so many unknowns, you would think a rule could be bent occasionally. I am sure any guests waiting for a table, upon seeing the visible condition of my sister, would not have questioned why she would have been seated before them.
To say the least we will not be returning to your restaurant and when family and friends ask how we celebrated my sister’s birthday, I will tell them about the experience I had last night on the phone with two restaurants, heaping praise on the one that broke protocol to help a patron in need by making that unusual...
Read moreAugust 2025: I came in on a Saturday for lunch and was immediately asked if I was there to pick up an order. I was not and said that I was hoping to dine there. The hostess got up from her chair that she was sitting in and walked me over to a table. My drink order was placed for a sweet tea. I was brought an unsweetened tea and it wasn't until after I took a sip that there was stuff floating in the cup. It could have been harmless, but I don't know. I ordered the salmon with potatoes and vegetables. It came with a salad that was a small tomato cut in half, one slice of a cucumber and the rest iceberg lettuce. The salmon was good, but there was a weird skin over the warmed up butter, like they had prepared it hours earlier and didn't bother to stir it before bringing it out. The peanut butter pie was the best part of the whole meal. Everything seemed to be neat and clean. Prices are a bit higher than I remember from my last visit.
