R & No More

I rarely ever write reviews, but they have consistently disappointed on so many fronts. This is not based on one experience, but back to back to back to back. The latest time has been one too many, especially with their customer service. I ordered to go Chicken Parm Plate just after 3:00 (so dinner prices even if five minutes had only past but it is what it is). However the main issue was being charged $20.95 when the online price shows $15.65. I was also charged a dollar more for the shrimp poboy. When I called to ask about the price discrepancy, they insisted that was the updated price and that they had no control over old menus posted online....

Except I was referencing R & Os actual website menu. Even checked their facebook link and it brought me to the same site. I asked the receptionist about this and that's when she said the website editor had passed and they haven't been able to change it. Which, I understand, things happen. But she continues and states this was SIX months ago and her solution was saying that she tells people to take updated menus at the restaurant when they leave. It's just confusing, their solution is offering an updated menu after the fact. And even still, they never offered me an "updated" menu when I picked up the food.

At the very least, they can mention that prices have changed when someone orders if they know that the prices online are inaccurate.

On top of that, the receptionist was consistently rude and said she couldn't help me because the manager was out and I would have to call another day. At any rate, there should be an acting manager/supervisor who can address issues that come up?

And I know, at the end of the day, it's just a handful of dollars.

I'm just really disappointed because I really like their food, but their poor customer service and inaccurate prices are very frustrating. This was the last straw and I wish it...

I thought that I should have to share this today because we have loved This restaurant for the past 30 years! Today my two sons and I went there for a quick lunch. We ordered three boys an order a cheese fries and three drinks. We got served pretty quickly but when sandwiches came, we only had halves instead of wholes Fridge that we ordered. We always order a hole because the difference between a half and a hole is three dollars which makes no sense, but in any case we told the waitress and she said OK I said we’ll just pack it up because we have to go so we waited another 20 minutes and then she came back of the and a bill that was over $123 ! We did add one extra sandwich to go. We had four boys, an orange cheese fries and two drinks. When I looked at the bill, she had charged us for 2/2 for each sandwiches instead of a whole which is double the price ! So instead of the sandwiches being $16, they were $32. We finally got out of there , after being there two hours which is longer than we needed to be there since we had somewhere to go ! When we got home - we live different houses. She marked the all boxes wrong! Just an aggravating experience! I think she needs a rethink her profession or write everything down. On a good note, the food was good , as usual! The only thing I noticed was that if you don’t use cash, they charge you extra, which I don’t like that because the prices have gone up way high enough. It’ll be a while...

One would question self respect here regarding the waitress's actions while being filmed. Other family members are just as guilty of the same offense since they thought it was funny to comtaminate a patrons food and be rude to a new employee. Family connections are not a foundation for such acts. This family needs to cut the apron strings and allow some 3rd generation members to grow up, go out in the real world and experience life so they realize you get back what you put out. Then come back and appreciate all the work that goes into having a long running establishment. If such acts are allowed to continue and this individual who must have self esteem issues is allowed to return only after offering a simple apology to an elder this generation will learn nothing about being a honorable member of our society. New Orleans relies on repeat business and this sad little girl is damaging not only her familys business ( I will never go there and I will make sure no one I know will ever go there as well since one cant trust that what you dont see isnt dirtied with worse filth) but makes you questions New Orleans in general if such acts are allowed in eating establishments. The elders of this family needs to take a hard look at themselves and ask the question " Would we allow a non family member/employee to get away with such gross acts? If the answer is "No" then you need to consider how to move...

The Baseline: For a Cajun Casual Dining establishment the creole flavors must be represented, there must be cajun offerings to the restaurant, and the experience must be true to the spirit of a the Cajun culture. Food: You will get fed at R&O! The portions are sizable and the flavors are there. The PoBoy is the really good go-to sandwich for R&O but also the Muffaletta is about 2-3 meals if you order the full. They are not messin’ around on sandwiches at R&O. The onion rings are a good, tasty fried appetizer but it is a mound of onion and batter. All in all this is a great lunch spot with a good way not to ever walk away hungry. Service: Southern hospitality on steroids. Had a great experience with our waiter and all the staff. Kept my water and soda refilled. Ambiance: No frills, no muss, no fuss. This is a great sit down casual restaurant that is clean and up-kept. Clean bathroom and easy parking.

Stooped in for lunch mid week as I was craving a shrimp po-boy. The place was packed which is always a good sign. Located the Buckhead area. No frills in this place, but there is plenty of seating. I got a table quickly and my server was swamped but provided great service. I went with the 9inch whole shrimp po-boy. They just list it as a sandwich. I don’t like it fully dressed so I get no tomato or lettuce with extra pickles and tarter on the side. The bread they use here is not traditional and actually has some seeds on it. It’s still very good. Shrimp as well seasoned and plenty of it. No sides for me. Great sandwich and very filling. Everything I saw come out of the kitchen from Italian plates, fried seafood, to sandwiches looked great. I will for sure come back and try some other items. I highly recommend a visit.

Come ready to get stuffed! There are few places I go where I feel that I got my money's worth of food. R&O is definitely one of those places. It was a very busy Friday night, perhaps due to being a Jazz fest weekend, yet the line moved for our party of 3. It didn't feel like a long wait. Our waitress was sharp, attentive and friendly despite how busy the place was. The food quality didn't suffer. I had an excellent chicken fettuccine myself, my peers dishes were excellent as well. There is nothing bad on this menu. I guess the only con is that you have to be ready to get a doggy bag cuz you're probably gonna need it. Curse you if you'd waste such good food.
