Atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly, and you are well taken care of. Got the Jambalaya, crawfish pie, and Gumbo combo plater. The Gumbo was closer to a stew in thickness, tasted well even if a bit spicy, but was lacking in Crawfish. The Jambalaya was overcooked and a bit spicy for anyone not use to a spicier diet. The crawfish pie crust is a bit soft and undercooked looking. The taste is a bit underwhelming when compared to the bold, spicy flavour of the gumbo and jambalaya. The pie is by far my favourite of the three dishes. The hush puppies are great. Not to dry and just the right amount of flavour. For dessert I had the Banana Foster's Bread Pudding. The bread pudding was good but the sauce makes it a bit to sweet. I could only eat half before it became to much. I judged the food based upon the palette of someone not from Louisiana or of someone who is not as big into the spicier dishes of South Louisiana so as to be as unbiased as possible.

I ordered the boiled shrimp that for some reason wasn't on the menu but I was stoked they had it. Because it was way better cold the next day, that's how I like my boiled shrimp anyway. I got the blue breeze as my cocktail which was delicious. The only complaint I had when it came to my meal what the fact that I ordered fried pickles and they came out very undercooked. The next day I deep-fried them at home and they were much much better. They weren't even golden brown. I was confused as to why they were brought to the table that way. But, I've worked in the service industry so I'm the last person that's going to send something back.... Our server was a delight. I can't remember his name but he was very knowledgeable about the menu, off menu items, prices.. and pretty much everything. I will be returning.

Ordered take-out, horrible portions for the price paid. The first picture is the Baked Shrimp Classic and cost $18.95 and when ordered in restaurant you receive a much larger more reasonable portion. The second item is the Duked Up Shrimp $12.99, in restaurant, this item comes on a large metal serving tray with 6 or so individual, large shrimp with sauce on the top. The only reason this review is 2 stars is because the food actually tastes good. I do not recommend this restaurant for Take-Out. Don't waste your money if you don't have the time to go in and sit down. The third picture is borrowed from another review, it is what the Duked Up Shrimp looks like when you order it in restaurant. 3 1/ Stars from me, I want to like it. Let me say first, the place has potential, and considering it just opened, I hope it will improve with time. CONS: Service - We walked in at 5:30 on Wednesday night, asked for a table for 2. We were told we could sit on the patio or wait 10 minutes for a table inside. I asked; Is there smoking on the patio? Hostess said, NO. WRONG, evidently, smoking is allowed on the patio. This greatly diminished my dining experience. Hostess needs better training in order to assist customer with a pleasant dining experience. Waitress; She was very young and I understand she was probably new to the job. However, someone should tell her that her hands are the first thing customers will focus on. Chipped nail polish is unattractive, black/chipped nail polish is the worst, and when i say chipped, i mean CHIPPED. I asked for a go cup because she had just refilled my tea. She brought me a go cup half the size of my tea. Surely, she will improve also. FOOD: The jambalaya has no flavor, as evident by the pale color. The gumbo tasted like the brown gravy served over hamburger steak. I would give the crawfish pie 3 1/2 out of 5. My wife had the grilled stuffed shrimp (very good!) with baked potato. Like the other reviews, I feel it was a bit overpriced for the portions. I believe it is important to support local businesses, so, I will go again, and hopefully, it will continues to improve. If it does, I will...

Duke's has been on my list for awhile because I have heard nothing but good things about it! It has been recommended by friends and family and when my aunt announced that Duke's was the location to celebrate my cousins birthday we were all set. No disappointments, we had a lovely dinner and the food and staff were both fantastic! My husband and I both ordered seafood and both were great. I had stuffed shrimp with baked potato and he ordered a trio with meat pie, gumbo and something else that he wolfed down quickly. Others at our table ordered oysters chargrilled, fried catfish, fried shrimp, etc. There were no complaints at out table on the food at all. Hushpuppies are delivered to all tables for starter and these were replaced as needed by attentive staff. Our waiter was great with out table of ten. He also had another large table of over 10 and was great with them also. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and quick to bring more napkins and drink refills. I must say that the food and great service is above average here and won't disappoint. We...

Decided to try something new for this week and saw this sign. Entering wasn't the most pleasant feeling, due to a lack of diversity, but the hostess was very quick to acknowledge me and welcome me. She was patient as I looked through the menu to order food to go. Even when additional customers came in, she didn't leave from waiting on me, another hostess helped them. I ordered two items from the appetizers, shrimp (10 come with it) and onion rings for about $20. I was informed my food would be ready in about 15 minutes so I sat at the bar and watched oysters be shocked and grilled. My food was ready in about 10 minutes. It smelled divine, so I sampled them in the car. The shrimp had a little spiciness to them, but not overwhelming. The onion rings were crisp and not over battered; almost stringy. Both dishes were good. Other than my initial discomfort of walking in and seeing some patrons facial expressions, this was a nice experience and the food was good. If I can post pictures I will, otherwise look for my travelers...
