Si Señor — Restaurant in Louisiana

UPDATE::::::Just got back into Louisuana today and after a long day of sightseeing and fun with our work crew, we were hungry! Turns out Si Senor was on our way to our accommodations for our trip. So, we decided after our visit, last year, that it'd be great to return. So glad we did! Everything was every bit as good as last time! Really hit the spot. Service was friendly, too! And the owner remembered us!! We enjoyed seeing him work with his crew on this busy Saturday night. He was zipping all over the restaurant doing any and all that was needed! He even performed a birthday song 🎵 for some guests! Love the dedication to excellence here! Will return any time we are in town:)

On way to Gumbo Cook-Off in New Iberia and looked on Google for a good place to eat. Si Senor had stellar reviews so we gave it a try. We are restaurant owners and super-picky! We find it so hard to find places that have good food, are clean and have cheerful, attentive service. This place had it all!!! My hubby enjoys a good margarita. He almost always has to coach the bartenders at the places we go to so they come out the way he likes. Si Senor's margarita was great just the way they made it! We were traveling with a friend and her family. They are of authentic Mexican heritage. She ordered a relleno and kept remarking how it was like her mom would make. It was real. The beans the right flavor and consistency. My hubby tried it and oooed and aaaahhhed over it too. My son, who does not share our enthusiasm for Mexican food, excitedly scarfed down his burtito because he enjoyed it that much! Our daughter got a Po-Boy that she loved. My fajitas were delightfully different and tasted fresh and had such a clean, well balanced level of spices. The only thing we didnt like-and this was no fault of the owners or staff, was the steak in tomatoe sauce. My hubby expected something different than what he got and is also really, really picky about the doneness of his steaks. It, to him, was slightly over-cooked, so he did not finish it. The owner and staff insisted on taking it off the bill. Other than that, our experience was top notch! But above all we enjoyed meeting the owner and his generous hospitality toward us all. He genuinely LOVES what he does, loves his momma and it shows! He zipped around greeting, serving and even making table side quac. He is a hard working owner who jumps in and proudly works along side his crew! Our travels usually involve unpleasant dining experiences. We were remarking of the difference between our breakfast today at a chain that was not so great due to poor service on the part of our server and how the server at Si Senor, in comparison, did everything right. I've been here several times, and I wish they wouldn't have changed some things. Their food is very great and their staff is usually on top of their games. Their decor is lovely and quaint and the atmosphere is relaxed and soothing. I haven't had a bad experience here, but I do have some complaints that keep that fifth star from my review. For one, I don't know when, but they removed several of the tacos from the sampler option, limiting you to only three or four options. Also, the last time I went, they had run out of molé, which is odd considering they have several dishes with it. Otherwise, I enjoyed my time at this establishment. I plan on coming back for that...

Best food hands down for travelers staying in Morgan City.

I travel to Morgan City unfortunately frequently sometimes for week at a time. I’ve tried every place around here believe me and it took me awhile to discover this gem because I don’t like Mexican food. At least I thought I didn’t in any case this is great food tastes amazingly fresh and onions, garlic, clilantro etc all utilizes fantastically such that I feel healthy and good after eating. Remember I am living out of a hotel when out here so the normal cuisine can be draining that’s why I almost nearly just eat here now I feel great and more energetic.
