When I first drove past the bakery I hardly noticed it was open. It seemed dark, but there was an “open” sign… so I wandered in to check it out. The lady who was working was very delightful. She was kind and did not rush me….everything you would want/expect from a good hometown bakery. I purchased a king cake, which I thought was fairly priced compared to other great ones I have eaten. I had a feeling it was going to be great when she asked if I minded waiting a few minutes… I assumed so she could go decorate it… she returned less than 5 minutes later with a beautiful, large cake. Fast forward to when I got home and opened the box: It smelled wonderful and tasted even better!! The bread was soft, fluffy, and not dry (which all king cake lovers know is hard to get ‘just right’)… the filling tasted great and there was just enough icing not to overwhelm the taste of the cake itself. Hands down the freshest, softest king cake I have ever eaten… and I’ve eaten a lot in my 40 years. Bravo!!

I lived here in 2013 and bought a couple cakes from this place that were good. However, now 2021, regarding the interior, not very delightful, fake pastries and cupcakes in the window, nothing fresh…looks scary. I went in for a pie but they didn’t have any. I ordered a Napoleon even though I was skeptical and I should’ve gone with my instincts. They assembled it while I waited, and literally came up to the front to grab some Hershey’s chocolate syrup. It was $4.39, which I wouldn’t mind paying for a quality bakery item but as you can see in the image, this is not that, and the taste is subpar at best. Save your money and go somewhere reputable.

I ordered a King cake from them and it was $20! The king cake was very good. It was baked very well and was fluffy and not dense like some king cakes are. It wasn’t too sweet and did not have an extreme amount of cinnamon.

I brought my kids here to celebrate their last day of school with a cupcake or something special. Their first choice was a little 4 pack of lemon doberge squares that we saw in the cooler, but the lady said they were out. So they chose individual slices of the wedding cake. But what we got, for $3.95 a piece, was literally just white cake with some kind of fruit gel filling instead of the almondy wedding cake with wedding cake filling, and tasteless buttercream frosting instead of typical wedding cake icing. Nice...
