I grew up going to the Morgan City and Bayou Vista Tampico's and never had issues with quality of food or staff. But tonight, at the Bayou Vista location, the whole experience was awful. I called to place a to-go order, and was struggling to hear the girl on the other side of the phone who was taking my order. She was speaking softly and all I could hear was all the loud clanging and noise in the background. When arriving to get my food, we checked to make sure everything was correct, and we had one plate that was messed up. When I told her that it was hard to hear her on the phone, she said it was because she was in the back kitchen and its always loud in there and it's hard to hear. If you know the costumer won't be able to hear you and you won't be to hear the costumer, don't you think you, I don't know, maybe, don't answer or take phone orders in the kitchen? Especially because that is what causes someone's order to be placed incorrectly (she also did not repeat my order back to me before she hung up). Though, when I arrived and told her the order was incorrect, she acted like she could care less. And I still had to pay to correct my order that she messed up in the first place.
Now, upon arriving home 5 minutes later to eat the food, it was not good. The cheese enchiladas were gritty, not like you would expect from a normal corn tortilla. The enchilada sauce also didn't have any flavor to it. So... I was very disappointed.
I don't think I will want to go back to Tampico's in BV again. Instead, i'll probably go to Si Senior, where they know how to take phone orders and dine in orders correctly; and my food won't taste like it is...
Read moreI post this not out of hate. But encourage yall to have a better hostess situation. While we did arrive at a busy time. The hostess was not at her station temporarily. This I understand, bc being a former hostess, I know it comes with side tasks too. When she arrived back her face was down unaware of everything going around her. As I so desperately was trying to get her attention, before a rude customer with an 11 top table cut in front of me. The worst part from this whole experience, is that there seemed to be not much direction of where people should go to talk to the hostess, while staff passes through, customers coming and going, this part was the worse. Because you are left with little to no space to talk to what appeared to be a very shy and timid hostess. I'm a week post op from an outpatient procedure, and was just trying to meet my son's grandparents halfway with his dad, to pick him up. Bc of the chaotic traffic mess at the hostess stand, I hit my side on whatever desk situation is across from the hostess stand. As one of the only sitting restaurants for nice dinning in the area. It's disgusting to see my drink being served to me with someone's dirty hands on the rim of my glass/cup when they're giving it to me! That is extremely rude and unclean!
