So, we decided to stop by this place on the way home because it's convenient. Not my favorite, but not bad.
They were a little busy with the lunch crowd. We sit down and everything goes as normal. Things start taking a turn for the worse when my boyfriend asked for more chips. Rather than being more courteous, the manager (server) says "Give me a few minutes" He did catch himself and tried to say please and fix it but that initial was not ok. I let it go, no biggie. Then my glass was never refilled, others were, but not mine. Then my son asked for a steak knife and it was never brought.
Finally the nail in the coffin was that my boyfriend, without thinking, put a $5 tip on a $70 meal. Now, this is understandably low but he just did it without thinking about the % as this is what he does during the week and didn't think about how the prices are jacked up for the weekend. What gets me is that the manager (server) actually came to get the bill after it was signed and looked at my boyfriend and he "You put $5 on a $70 bill?" My boyfriend just replied with "yeah."
Others may disagree, but to me that is horribly unprofessional. A tip is not required and is based on what the customer wishes to grant. Not to mention, the service lacked... and He's the Manager! (Or owner... not sure) If it was awesome, I would even somewhat understand but just because you're smiling doesn't mean your service is good.
I don't feel comfortable going back to this restaurant, sadly. To be confronted like that makes me want...
Read moreDisgusting & Horrible!! That was by far one of our favorite places. We were literally frequent customers there, up until few weeks ago. I went to grab my pick up order, a lady coming out straight of the kitchen, her hand was half down her throat, she was picking something between her back teeth with her finger!!! She was wearing no gloves, no nothing, proceeded to grab my credit card with her filthy hand that she had juuuuust taken out of her mouth, revealing long disgusting nails (she literally had black under nails).. It was by far one of the most shocking and disgusting experiences I ever had at a food place! I ended up throwing our order in the trash without even touching it, and proceeded straight to disinfect my credit card!!! If I could give minus 20 stars, I would have gladly done it!!! We switched from being the biggest fans who always recommended this place to everyone we know, to literally never ordering food from there again! Actually , now we even warn everyone about this place & tell them about what happened last time!! These people better pick up on their hygiene because that was utterly disgusting. God knows what other bad hygiene habits are being...
Read moreFirst off, the food is delicious. I almost wish it wasn't, because I will really miss not coming here. Below are my grievances, in order of severity.
1.) There was a fingernail in our salsa. Yes, we're sure. No, it wasn't a piece of cheese or onion or anything else that could look similar to a torn-off crescent of human fingernail. We picked it out and still ate the salsa, but became increasingly grossed-out about it as we continued our meal.
2.) They charge you for sides (such as sour cream) that they never bring you.
3.) I have a personal problem with the signs on both sides of the restaurant admonishing guests to "please pay your server." "Please tip" would be bad enough, but "please pay"?? Isn't that the job of the employer, even in our messed-up tipping culture?
4.) If you ask for a virgin drink that is specifically listed as non-alcoholic on the menu, they will bring you a version with alcohol in it (not a problem for everybody, but relevant for a couple in recovery).
Again, unfortunately, everything was really delicious and I still have leftovers from this trip that I intend to finish. But we...
