Chilitos Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Louisville

A couple of issues. #1. When I ordered crunchy chicken tacos, the person behind the counter pulled taco shells out of an "Old El Paso" box that you can purchase at the grocery. #2. Their cheese dip is runny when it should be thicker and creamy. #3. Their mild salsa is an "off color" orange and is obviously watered down, lacks taste, and is also very runny. The chips were fine and come with your meal. It's a good thing because the food is small portions, considerably less portions than their competitor down the highway. I WILL go back to try the double chicken burrito, chicken nachos, and torta. Not sure if they will make it but I hope so. The owner needs to make some improvements fast. Get better mild salsa, don't water down the ingredients, make your own taco shells (or at least don't pull them out of a box you can buy at the grocery), get a good hot salsa or at least have Chohula Sauce on the table. We have come her periodically since they opened this location. It's fast food build-your-own style where you pick what you want in your burrito or in your taco. Ingredients are always very fresh and tasty. They have two fountain machines with Coca Cola and Pepsi, and also have Big Red! In the cooler you can choose a dessert (the flan is great) or a Jarritos soda. During COVID they do takeout and also have indoor seating that allows for social distancing. The dining space is pretty spacious for being in a strip mall location. Definitely a gem on Dixie where chain restaurants abound.

Terrible I always get charged extra when I didn't recieve extra queso . They tell me it's extra 2.50 charge for queso. Thus has happened 3 times before charged for extra rice never did. Also portions are alot smaller. This restaurant gets over and ill never come back. Check your receipt before leaving. I also talk to the owner and he tells the lady charge me extra in Spanish thinking I dont know there language which I do understand! Terrible 3 times now. I would definitely think about not coming to this place! Even thou it's only 2.50 charge it's the point!
