Dragon City (Formerly First Wok) — Restaurant in Louisville

When I first came to this location, it was "First Wok" and the food was really bad. This was nearly 10 years ago when I was still in high school and had just got my driver's license. After this experience, I never gave them another shot. Since the name change I had been hearing really good things from a friend who lives around the corner from the restaurant. She said she goes there all the time and the Chinese food is "amazing" for the price.

I am now chalking up my previous experience to a bad day. There is no way the same people who made my food last night made my food 10 years ago. Everything was fresh and hot-- not greasy like a lot of Chinese places in the area.

Something I particularly enjoy is vegetables; all of which were perfectly cooked. My egg roll was crisp on the outside yet caramelized inside. There was a fresh taste of celery inside of my egg roll, and crisp fresh celery in my Garlic chicken. I absolutely love that-- and it's not often you find those flavors in the more popular restaurants. (I know celery isn't a popular flavor among Americans)

The service was great. There was definitely a language barrier, but the woman behind the counter noticed I ordered my food "Hot", and she even gave me a little extra hot chili sauce on the side to pour over my meal! I am a huge fan of places that do this, they just can't make it hot enough for me!

I can see how some people may not have the taste for this kind of Chinese food, but I'm going to be coming here a lot more often. I am also very glad I gave them another shot and didn't let just one bad experience dictate my whole outlook.

This is definitely not 5 star Chinese, but for $20 you can feed 4 people sensibly. That's unheard of these days, so I give them...

This has honestly been the worst experience I have ever had with a delivery restaurant. The online checkout process was very easy and convenient, however the delivery window "guaranteed" on the website is garbage. Our order has yet to be received. Minimal apology for lack of delivery, only directions to call back in 15 minutes to check on the status of our order. A refund is pending, but we are awaiting the arrival of our absentee driver back to the restaurant to void our tab. For being 2 miles from the restaurant, it seems suspicious that our order has yet to turn up and our refund is pending the arrival...

My wife ordered online at around 5:00 and scheduled food to be ready for me to pick up at 6:45. I got there at 6:47 and by the time I got home to eat at 6:51 it was ice cold. A container of General Tso's usually stays too hot to eat for 1/2 hour minimum. This tells me they made my food at 5:00 and it sat on the counter for almost 2 hours.

The flavor itself was fine and we got everything we ordered, but there is a better alternative just 1 minute further away from me.
