Great food with sort of a "Mexico City meets New Mex Tex" flavor! I was visiting friends in Louisville after traveling from San Diego and we decided to try Quezadillas as it was new and nearby. It is apparent upon entering that the restaurant is new. It was comfortable, nicely appointed, and the staff was attentive to the customers. We ordered the chicken enchilada suizas and seafood tacos. The food arrived pretty quickly and was great tasting. The chicken enchiladas were made up of chunk/shredded chicken breast wrapped in corn tortillas and topped with a tangy salsa. What struck me most was the fresh taste of the enchiladas as it was apparent that their chicken had not been stewing in a pot all day. Nor had they reheated pre-made enchiladas. The next day we ordered beef tamales and an order of queso stuffed poblano peppers. Both entrees were excellent! Again the poblano peppers had been perfectly prepared (skinned, cleaned, seeded) them lightly grilled with the queso stuffing. They had a really fresh green poblano pepper taste and were not overly spicy blending perfectly with the queso. Keep in mind these are not like typical chile rellenos that have been dipped in batter and deep fried...I thought this approach was better tasting and certainly healthier. The tamale was really delightful as well. The masa was moist (not crumbly or dry) and the shredded beef inside was equally well prepared. The plating was neat as well as it was served on a bed of what looked like picadillo and a sauce. Quezadillas is now my Louisville friends favorite Mexican restaurant. As I said early the food flavors and cooking style lands somewhere between "Mexico City meets New Mex Tex" . Too bad I live...
Read moreMy family visited soon after they opened for business. We had our two littles with us and would need a high chair for our youngest. We arrived and let the host know that we would need one. He walked away and sat us at a table. He never came back with a high chair. We noticed the table next to us had a high chair with no children at their table. We inquired about the high chair AGAIN. He walked away & came back looking like they were trying to hide something. He finally confessed that they only had ONE HIGHCHAIR! What! One high chair?? They opened up by a large family neighborhood and they think that will suffice. Besides the fact, they were trying to avoid letting us know we wouldn’t be able to have a high chair because the table next to us already had it. Eventually an older child came into the restaurant to use it, not acceptable when we had a small baby that needed it more. We ordered drinks and queso and tried to make the dinner work out. The drinks were ok…the queso terrible…the chips awful. We ultimately decided to leave and didn’t even order dinner. It was such a waste of our time. They even charged us for our drinks we didn’t even drink. All around terrible first impression of this place. ...
Read moreMy wife and I went in for dinner and were not disappointed! The staff was very kind and on top of it. We started with some chorizo queso that was 10/10 - thick, well seasoned, not too salty - perfect. The chips were fresh and warm, too. I got the mini chimichangas and they were also very good. I wasn't crazy about the Shredded chicken ones as that's just not my preference. But they were well seasoned and crispy! The beef ones were FIRE - the mest was very well seasoned and so tender. The Pico, lettuce, and queso all went well with them. The portions were reasonable too - not crazy big but definitely not small either! 10/10 would recommend...
