BE CLEAR! THE OWNER DEFLECTS REVIEWS AS IF YOU LEFT A POSITIVE ONE. training is needed for your staff. Don't ignore you made a special needs child feel like they're not important as another table wearing labels! Keep the same energy with allllll tables that was the point of my post.
I would have given it five stars but the tacos were horrible. They made up for it with the quesadillas đ
The main issue I had was with the waitress.
STORY TIME
Now In my younger years i worked as a server for Fridays on City line Avenue. One day What I learned from a fellow server was, the absolute worst thing you can do is issue your attention according to how someone is dressed. You can miss out on so much doing that. My co worker judged a customer who happened to be an actor in town working. He was wearing a hoody, trucker hat, cotton shorts and some dirty retro Asics sneakers. Now because it was about 330pm and raining it was a bit slow. Lunch rush was slow too that day too due to the rain. I knew Tips weren't going to be the best for us servers so i sucked it up and made the best of it. Now my coworker who let the rain and lack of customers effect her mood. She had no idea who she was waiting on. Probably because She barley made eye contact, she spoke real fast and walked away after he ordered. She didn't comeback to check his table until i mentioned he was looking for her. Now to me, he looked familiar but i couldn't believe that person would come to Fridays. of all the places he could be, I just couldn't believe it. I was definitely in denial, yet still excited to walk pass and steal a glimpse. I waited tables in the section next to the other server. Her customer/actor must have saw how i treated my tables. So much so that on his way out he left his waitress $5, tipped me $50 and paid for one of the tables in my section. The cutest elderly couple. I was so excited to tell them what happened that brought them the check before they requested it. I explained to them that I wasn't putting them out but i wanted them to know someone took care of their bill. Because the actor paid waaaay to much money for they're food, the couple was able to pocket the change and keep their own money. The couple seemed sooo grateful. It made me cheese so hard. Not just because the actor paid for their food but because they shared an appetizer sampler because They were low funds and now with that extra money they were able to get something else they wanted .
They stay and purchase dessert. When they were done they insisted on tipping me. Because i too was blessed by the actor, i refused. No matter how much I refused The elderly couple insisted on tipping me. During our small back and forth One of my tables was just seated. When i went to take the new tablets order i noticed the couple scurry out into the rain. They left me $15 anywayđ¤Śđžââď¸. I caught the wife as soon as she made it off the step outside. I hugged her and said thank you. while using the cold rain as a distraction i slipped the money in her pocket and ran back inside. I wouldn't t feel right accepting their money. It seemed greedy. Thats why i gave it back. I was just happy to see them receive their blessing so graciously.
Blessings comes in so many forms. I hope the owner reads this to their servers. Courtesy can go a long way. As for my server at this establishment. I left her $10 on a $53 check. it would have been a whole lot more if weren't for her behavior. I came in with the intention of not only eating but to bless a server because I was blessed tremendously just 3 hours earlier that day. Her lack of eye contact, cold demeanor, made me think of that story. Now i wasn't dressed for a red carpet i just happened to be leaving a pottery class and wanted to relax with my son for dinner. The waitress behavior turned me off. I just hope anyone going to this restaurant have a much better...
Read moreWe had organized a private birthday party and were excited to host. The party was for 19 people including the 2 kids. The tables were nicely set with our custom birthday menu card for each person.
Our issue was the service. The management assigned only 1 waiter for a party of 19 people. The guacamole which was our appetizer which came nearly 45 minutes after the chips and salsa. The dinner entrees order were taken for every individual. The entrees came after more than hour wait time which is understandable but wrong entrees came for 2 people. The side dishes, rice and beans came 45 minutes after the entrees came out when pretty much everyone was already done eating and those who waited for the side dishes had their food cold, waiting for the dishes to come out. We know the waiter was overwhelmed and he was in all honesty doing his best being the only person for 19 people. The waiter was kind and profusely apologetic and kept saying how sorry he was for the delay. We were off course not happy with the service and after our guests left, we wanted to speak with the manager.
Our waiter guided us to a table close to bar and pointed towards a women and was told she was the assistant general manager who will come talk to us. After waiting 15 minutes a gentleman named Daniel came to us who introduced himself as the supervisor. No problem, we expressed our concerns to him and genuinely wanted to give our feedback. He became very rude and said that we had signed a contract and this is what it is and nothing could be changed. We repeatedly told him and asked if he recognizes that their is lack of service and delivery here and for the amount we pre-paid including pre-paying for tips, for a big group, we did not get what we paid for. At that point, he said that let me talk to my assistant general manager and I will get back to you.
10 minutes later the assistant general manager walked to us, slapped some papers at the table and said âThis is your bill, we have charged the credit card on file and this is your contract for you to take to your lawyerâ and left. Her tone was disrespectful, rude and most condescending to say the least. It just showed for her to not care at all when we really genuinely wanted to share our experience with the management thinking they would care and would want to know.
When we tried to talk to her, the assistant general manager started yelling and asked us to leave. She started attacking us verbally and we immediately left feeling humiliated, disrespected and hated, that literally my cousin and my wife cried outside on their patio for such rude and hateful speech. Itâs been a month that we reached out to their corporate office with a complaint and till date no response. Would not go back or recommend to anyone. Itâs 2023 and no one deserves...
Read moreNot a good experience. We had a largish group (12) arriving late, 9:30-ish. We made reservations a few days before, confirming at that time that they could accommodate our party.
Service was extremely slow and plagued with issues.
He took the drink/appetizer order for half the table then just left. About 10 minutes later we got his attention for our end.
Appetizers arrived (took a long time) and were long since devoured before taking our entree orders. We, again, didn't see entrees for quite some time.
One end of the table ordered a pitcher of margaritas, server didn't card and gave a prepared glass (salt rim, lime) to an underage (college-aged) diner.
Personally, my appetizer order came out wrong (ordered guacamole & jalapeĂąos on the side as my daughter doesn't like them), and my entree came out room temperature. (Cheese enchiladas are an oily, solid glutinous mass at room temperature.) Both had to be sent back. Sides of Mexican rice were also room temperature, but after waiting well over an hour starvation made those edible.
A salt shaker was requested early in the meal for the chips, then again near the end after his entree arrived with unsalted fries. The diner finally got up and went to find one themselves.
Another diner had to hunt down to-go boxes on their own at the end of the meal as those also were not received as requested.
Refills... why even mention them. You get the idea.
I get that we were a large party and it was late. We were enjoying our conversations and are typically very forgiving of mistakes, it takes a lot to get me to leave a bad review. This was catastrophically bad service.
Aside from the obvious issues, food was OK. Rather bland for Mexican food, but I can chalk that up to personal preference. Not the heat so much as just not very flavorful. For instance, the salsa had some (mild) heat, but no tomato flavor or acid. (My son may have been on to something requesting salt - we will never know.)
On the plus side, the end of the table that ordered guacamole said it was the best they ever had, the hamburger was very good (fries not so much), and the decor is wonderful...
