This Starbucks consistently gives off a strong “why are you bothering me” energy from employees who act like making a coffee is a massive imposition. They rush you through your order even when there’s no one in line, and the attitude is less “how can I help you?” and more “how dare you speak to me?”
I’ve stopped here a handful of times after work for a post-shift pick-me-up, hoping for a little joy in a cup. But each visit feels more like I’ve interrupted a secret club meeting with my silly little desire to, you know, buy coffee… at a coffee shop.
More times than not, my coffee is missing something. Maybe the wrong drink was just a fluke, maybe they were short-staffed, maybe the espresso machine was experiencing an identity crisis. I’m not one to assume the worst right away, mistakes happen, but when five out of seven visits end in a wrong order, it starts to feel less like a fluke and more like a pattern.
This is how my final visit went... I ordered a simple cold brew with syrup and a splash of oat milk. There were no other cars in the drive-through, and after pulling through he drive-through I looked inside to see one person sitting at a table.
After taking my payment I heard actual chanting: “On the count of three,” followed by cheering. I wasn’t sure if I was about to get a coffee or be hazed into a cult. Strange, but okay. Maybe they were celebrating finishing a drink correctly. Unfortunately, it wasn’t mine.
After an unusually long wait I was handed a black coffee. I asked about the oat milk and heard someone inside mutter that I “didn’t ask for it.” (spoiler alert: I did.) It was literally printed on the sticker. I didn’t bother asking about the missing syrup. At that point I wasn’t confident they hadn’t already spit in the cup.
I apologize for the great burden of ordering a coffee at a coffee shop. I know it must be difficult to earn a paycheck for handing over overpriced beverages, but if it’s truly that miserable, maybe consider a job where customers aren’t part of the equation.
I imagine it’s hard to manage employees anywhere. I get it, training people to make a coffee and not roll their eyes while doing it must be a tall order.
In places where leadership sets the tone and expectations, this kind of thing just doesn’t seem to happen as often.
I think I’ve learned my lesson. If I ever get the urge to stop here again, I’ll remind myself that I’m not ordering a coffee, I’m interrupting a sacred ritual. And unless I’m looking to be initiated into some undercaffeinated drive-thru coven, where the potions will give you nose warts not energy, I’ll take my chances somewhere that knows how to mix oat milk and coffee without...
Read moreThis place doesn’t feel like it's for customers—it feels more like a playground for the Starbucks crew. They shout at each other across the store, joke around loudly, and even sing along to the music at full volume, paying little attention to the comfort of the customers.
Even when washing dishes or cleaning, they make unnecessarily loud noises, and the music is often played at a volume that is painful to the ears. I love Starbucks, but I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location.
There’s an elderly couple who visits frequently, and every time they walk in, their eyes widen with clear discomfort. I suspect they, too, may stop coming soon. I believe Starbucks should place greater emphasis on crew training and attitude.
This store is in a great location and has a beautifully designed interior, but every time I visit, there are only two or three groups of customers at most. I strongly believe this is due to the crew's behavior.
I truly hope Starbucks can return to being a welcoming and comfortable space for...
Read moreWithin the past few weeks we have been greeted very poorly here. I am a frequent and this Starbucks and have become extremely disappointed with the service. It seems to be a lot of teenagers which is great, but they can never get our orders right. I order Venti, I get a grande. I order no classic, I get Breve??? The taste of the drinks have become extremely inconsistent. I went the other day and the cashier spilled cold foam all down my car, it stained my seats and got all inside. I got two napkins to clean all of it... Today I ordered 3 drinks which I understand is a lot. However they ask their questions and somehow still get the order wrong. 2/3 drinks were not correct but thank god they had stickers decorated on them right! I would rather get my drinks correct, and faster, than have stickers. We also got a whole bunch of stickers in the cup holder.. but only One drink correct out of Three. The straws are practically opened. I am so so dissatisfied and hopefully there will be better training...
