We had a disappointing experience here when we came for breakfast. :/
Pros: Beautiful aesthetic & good music. Definitely one of the most nicely decorated cafe’s in the area. We got our coffee and food quickly
Cons: Service is not good at all. Staff wasn’t friendly or welcoming. Waitress didn’t even smile at us. It was empty inside but she didn’t ask us where we would like to sit, just sat us down and left. She never greeted us, asked if we need help, if we have any questions, or any of the other usual questions. After we got our food, she just put it down and walked away. She didn’t ask if we need anything and never came back at any point to check on us. She didn’t ask how the food was or anything either. After we paid, she just gave us our receipt and left again. Not even a “have a nice day” or “thanks for coming in” or anything. We felt like we were bothering her by being there. I would sort of get it if it was busy and she was running around but it was just us and one more table. The man making the coffee also wasn’t doing anything and looked at us as we walked by and said nothing, usually you’ll get a “have a good day.” We went to Vanilla Cafe for pastries after and they immediately greeted us and multiple employees told us to have a nice day and were overall much more polite even though we didn’t even dine in, just got some pastries to go. The coffee was just okay. The espresso tasted burnt/old. The food wasn’t bad but my husband got something that came with a small side salad that was SO insanely salty. When he told me it was salty, I thought he was just being dramatic but I tried one leaf and it tasted like someone poured salt directly in my mouth, it was hard to even swallow. Flowers are way overpriced. We didn’t come for or buy flowers, but we looked at them on the way out. There was a medium sized bouquet of just mini daisies for $85!! And other average medium bouquet’s were close to $200. I go to Flowersome in Southampton and bought a similar bouquet for $70. For $200, I could get something 3 times bigger there.
Flourish Cafe (in Newtown) is very similar in aesthetics and have better food and better service. Go...
Read moreMy husband and I tried this place today, because I had been seeing posts about it on Facebook and it looked interesting. It’s definitely something different! The food was excellent. I had the Hawaiian Salmon bowl and my husband ordered the Chicken Bao Buns, and we both enjoyed the food very much. I ordered the Dragonfruit Lemonade, and it was very sweet! It Did not taste like any kind of lemonade that I am used to and it also tasted like it had Sprite or some sort of sugary soda in it, which I did not realize and it was not explained on the menu. I didn’t care for it because of how sweet it was. I saw The waitress bring a beautiful teapot to the table next to us and asked her what it was and she told me it was Sea Buckthorn tea. I ordered a pot and that was absolutely delicious! You can tell the teas are very fresh and I would like to try many more of them.
The menu was very diverse and strange to me, but lovely at the same time. I am not quite sure what the actual “theme” of the restaurant is, but that is kind of the beauty about it, to me anyway. I like trying places that offer different types of cuisine, so this place is right up my alley. I did however, think there would be more items on the menu for breakfast, since we got there about 11:15 am but perhaps they change from breakfast to lunch? In some of the pictures or the menu that is online, there were other dishes listed that I did not see on the menu in the restaurant, so that was a little confusing.
The service was very good. A little slow, but we didn’t mind because we were taking it all in. There were also gorgeous flower bouquets for sale. All said, we will definitely be going back to try some of the other dishes, teas...
Read moreI’ve had such a horrible experience when I first walked in there, though people there were just staring at me and did not come to me or attend to me. When I asked to be seated , the waiters ignored me completely and our food that came tasted spoiled and there was egg shells in my food like it came from the trash. The food even came less than 5 minutes later and I should’ve took a note of that. The waiter did not even greet or smile or introduce herself nor did she reply to anything we said. We tried to get the waiters attention by making eye contact and saying excuse me yet she ignored us and kept walking .. the place is not that big to not see someone looking or trying to get your attention. When I told the waiter about the eggshells in the food the waiters had NO reaction and said okay then took the bill back and removed it off the bill AFTER we said something. We even ordered bao buns and they never came. The drinks tasted like sprite and syrup.. all of them.. It felt like everyone was staring at us as well as the vibes felt very off putting and unwelcoming. It was like they were telling us to leave through their actions. I feel as if people of color are unwelcome. I do NOT recommend. Please...
