This place is better than I expected. Atmosphere: Walking in I was taken back slightly because it literally looks like Japanese pop culture exploded inside of it. It's covered with anime merchandise, samurai art, bokken, candies, etc. It does give the place character but also lowered my expectations a bit (they were already low because I simply find it impossible to find good Japanese food outside of Center City) since I kind of felt like I was in a confused convenience store. The staff on the other hand were lively and attentive, which was great. Starter: We ordered the mini pork soupy bun which was more like a soup dumpling, not like a chashu bun you'd get in many ramen places in the city, regardless it was excellent. Main: We ordered ramen with an egg and spicy garlic. I could knit-pick and say I wish the egg yolk was runnier and that the garlic could have used more heat ( I used all of mine + what my GF had left over), honestly a spice bomb add-on would do it for me. Could these little things be improved? Certainly but at the end of the day they both added to the dish and I really enjoyed my meal. They are not the reason this review sits at 4-stars. Why 4-star: I ordered the Chashu Ramen which is the tonkotsu with extra pork and priced $5 higher, this is pricey even in the city. The pork was inconsistent. My GF's 1 piece of chashu and 2 pieces of mine were cooked perfectly however 3 of mine were incredibly dry. For the price I was really expecting all pieces perfectly prepared. It came so close to being perfect. All of that out of the way though this is hands down the best ramen you can get in the area and I will be back.

Musashi is a pretty darn good Japanese restaurant, up there with the Bay Area ones. The food is all a-ok. We got a lot of food here right from the Spicy Tuna Avocado starter to the pretty heavy Una-don and Salmon Chirashi. The spicy tuna avocado starter is a must. You would probably wanna have more than one. It's quite a mouthful but the blend of flavors is just right. On the other hand, I'd skip the Salmon Ceviche. Even though the Salmon was fresh (I'm pretty sure), it did not taste fresh. We got 3 rolls, two of them were Build your own rolls. I loved this concept, where you get to pick your inside, your outer layer and some more add-ons. The price was also very reasonable. I wish this was more of a thing in other places too! For the main course, we got the Una-don and the Salmon/Ikura Chirashi. They were both pretty well done. However, I missed the hot stone pot that I'm used to eating my Unagi from. It got cold pretty fast. We also got the seafood ramen and the house ramen. The house ramen was one of those perfect bowls of noodles. The broth was just right - not too heavy or too cold. But despite all this, I'd only give Musashi 3.5 out of 5, because of the long wait times. We had to wait for about an hour after we ordered to get our food. I understand that they have only one chef. So be prepared for this when you head here!

Omg, I love this place! My husband loves coming here for their authentic ramen and I love coming here for their sushi. The ramen is definitely the best out of all the places we have tried. Owners are Japanese so their food and quality is quite on point. Their green tea ice cream are delicious too, not those milky matcha ice cream out there. Such a great restaurant still has a few negatives. This mom and pop is quite small and spaces are tight. I did not even plan to push my stroller inside. That’s how limited the spaces are. Another down side is they changed the way customers placed their order. Back then servers come to your table, now they require the customer to get up and head to the cashier in to place their order, which I think isn’t a smart idea. With this little walk room and tables with bench, definitely not a convenient way to their customers. Imagine you have a party of 4, best way would probably be one person ordering for the table instead of everyone trying to squeeze out of their seat and cramp themselves in that tight narrow walkway. Even with that being said, I believe I would still return here for their ramen and delicious food.

This Sushi restaurant is by far the best sushi you can get in PA. The quality of the sushi is exceptional and comes at a very affordable price for good sushi. They also have other Japanese dishes such as Donburi, Ramen, and Japanese curry but the star and highlight of this restaurant is Sushi.

The top appetizers to get here would be the Hamachi Jalapeno (This dish is very simple yet extremely delicious. Absolutely fantastic pieces of hamachi topped with jalapeno on a bed of thinly sliced string cucumber for added crunch and a great Ponzu sauce that gives this dish the perfect umami taste that will satisfy anyone who loves sushi. This is my favorite dish so it's a must try if you come here). Other notable mentions and must try dishes are the Salmon Ceviche (large cubes of salmon with pieces of cucumber, tomatoes, and mangoes in a sweet and fragrant soy sauce) the Aji Fry (lightly battered and perfectly fried pieces of Horse Mackerel with two dipping sauces, the fish is very fresh and the batter is exceptionally light and crunchy), and the fried oysters (also light battered and fried fresh oysters, with the same dipping sauce).

For dinner if you want to try most of their sushi or sashimi I would suggest the Sushi deluxe which includes most of the items on their a la carte menu, 10 pieces of sushi or sashimi for with generous slices of quality fish. I am also a big fan of Unagi and the unadon is great as well. They also have fantastic Sushi rolls, some of my favorites are the Musashi roll, spider roll, dynamite roll, and fried oyster roll, but you can't really go wrong with any of the rolls, all of them are delicious and well priced.

The dessert is simple and small so even if you are full it's not overwhelming. The doriyaki with a little bit of ice cream is a perfect finish to the meal.

Overall I believe this is one of the best priced and highest quality sushi restaurants there is in PA. If you want quality sushi that doesn't break the wallet in a no frills, small cozy Japanese restaurant I would suggest to come here. The only drawback is that since this is small place, seating is limited and they have a small staff so take out orders often take a long time since they are serving the dine in. Reservations are definitely needed even on weekdays to guarantee...

Musashi Exotic Japanese Cuisine is a small restaurant in a strip mall that boasts authentic Japanese food. Compared to Upper Gwynedd’s Oki Sushi, Musashi has a bigger, more decorative interior and more variation and items on their menu. While Oki Sushi’s menu is mostly based on sushi, Musashi’s menu consists of gourmet ramen, Japanese curries, sushi and sashimi and soup and salad along with assorted appetizers, as well as an assortment of drinks. While there are no alcoholic options on the menu, the restaurant is BYOB so you can bring your own alcohol. The restaurant also accommodates vegans (they have a separate vegan menu!)

All their ingredients are fresh and the food takes time to cook (they don’t just re-heat food and some days there is a longer wait.) The wait staff are friendly and polite and will accommodate everyone’s orders and rarely ever make a mistake. The food is delicious, my personal favorites being the chicken gyoza (chicken dumplings) spider roll (sushi roll with crab) and Tonkotsu pork ramen. The chicken gyoza was fluffy and not overcooked and the spider roll was tasty with an authentic Japanese taste. The ramen had just the right amount of ingredients, with the bamboo, corn, pork and bone broth complementing the flavor of the ramen. Absolutely delicious food overall.

The interior of the restaurant adds to the dining experience. When one enters, they are faced with a showcase containing Japanese toys and anime memorabilia, with anime posters and t-shirts available for purchase lining the walls of the restaurant. Anime is playing on the television and there is traditional Japanese music playing as well.

The restaurant is owned by Keiko Miura, whose husband, Nobukazu Miura is the cook. Mr. Miura’s credibility as a cook is boosted by the fact that he has worked at a hotel in Japan as a cook as well. Both husband and wife do an impeccable job of making sure their patrons receive quality food with an authentic Japanese taste. It helps that this is a Japanese restaurant owned and operated by a Japanese family. Upon finishing your meal, you are given your check promptly along with the candy dish to sample an assortment of Japanese candy. It’s a cute gesture and a good way to finish off a delicious...
