I'm not entirely sure how to rate the food as I've never really had anything like it! The fried rice was good (very much like any other place). The cucumbers are good although not really spicy at all. Now to the unique part, the main event, the beef in hot chili oil. It's very interesting. Very large! Unsure why they don't offer a smaller single person size. With a price tag of 21.95 I wouldn't order it again. It wasn't very spicy and I really thought it would be. It had sliced beef and came literally in a bowl of oil with an array of peppercorns and other stuff that I am just unsure of. Something super bitter and kind of crunchy. The peppercorns were crunchy and delicious but something else was chewy and had a very pungent flavor. I liked the cabbage and bean sprouts in it but everything was covered in the seeds that were overwhelming. It was worth the try but now I know it is not for me. The prices are really too high for me to come back. With a lunch price tag of 70$ for 3 people it just wasn't worth it. Now if you know about the beef stuff and really love it, it might be worth it for you. Not a bad review at all but a warning that this place is expensive and the food doesn't really reflect high...

Absolutely awful!! 3 of us went around 8 in the evening. The prices for appetizers are the same price as actual meals!!! I mean $10.99 priced appetizers (for only 5 bao!!!) and $12.99 meals. Ridiculous!!! That was just the beginning, while our meals did come out quite instantly, it also made me think if this was actually fresh. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and was hopeful that it would taste good. Boy was I wrong! I got the spicy beef noodle soup and the broth had little to no flavor! It tasted like they just boiled water and added a tea spoon of spiciness to it! The noodles were very very very chewy it was like chewing on play-doh! The peanuts they provide when you sit down were the best thing on the menu! I am incredibly disappointed, I enjoy the slide location much much better. I was looking forward to have a location that is closer to my house. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I did eat most of it, however, that is only because I was hangry, impatient, and too nice to complain. I will say though, that I did not enjoy eating the meal and complained in my head...

We took our food to-go. I was so excited to see the deep fried chicken with dried chili. We moved from Houston and ate it frequently. The dish did not disappoint.

If you’ve never had it before, it is spicy, but a different type of spicy. I really liked the addition of the peanuts. One note - and I always feel this way no matter where I get this dish - is that I’d love for the chicken to chili ratio to lean more towards the chicken side. Perhaps there could be a “double chicken” option? My wife and I usually share this and one other dish and it just leaves you wanting a bit more. At a price point of $17 I’d like more meat. The only small note I’ll make is that the chicken does have a very small hint of fish flavor. I am pretty picky when it fishy taste, but it didn’t bother me in this case.

We also got the fried rice with chicken. I was a fan of the rice. Nothing out of the ordinary with this rice with typical ingredients. I liked that it was a bit more on the oily side. I could have stood for a bit more salty.

We will...

We ended up here by chance, because we thought it was still Fun Noodle. It’s an almost completely different menu! We decided to stay instead of driving to Fun Noodle. Our experience wasn’t the greatest, but maybe it’s just them working out the kinks, or it was a slow lunch. We ordered General Tso’s chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and fried rice. Both of our Kung Pao chicken entrees were cold, not even close to being warm. We ended up eating only our rice and my wife her beef and broccoli. We did address this, and they were really kind and understanding about it and comped 1 entree. I’m not sure if we’ll try it again in the future. All I wanted was my beef noodles in spicy broth! Lol
