This quaint place is nestled in the Arnet neighborhood. They serve Mexican food. We went for breakfast. It was delicious. The staff is very friendly and the service we great. I would like to go back for lunch/dinner.

Very small restaurant with an at home feel. You can find the owner and his family working and making sure your food taste great! It's Tex-Mex and it's delicious!

Our breakfast chicharone and egg plate with Ranchero sauce were DELICIOUS! Chips and salsa .... Good as always 👌 Chorizo & egg plate was very good 😋

I do not recommend this place to anyone. The prices are ridiculous. I asked why I was charged $16.45 for two single meat burritos for $5.99 each that were greasy af and one had potatoes (extra .40) , and a single can of coke that was $2.50 and when we asked for a cup it looked like they used it as a scooper for ice at one point from all the scratches on the side of the cup. I didn’t ask for salsa, but they automatically assumed and charged me .50 for the salsa when it doesn’t say anywhere they charge for salsa. They should really mention that or post it somewhere. I know it’s not a lot of money lost, but if you’re going to rip people off don’t be a c*nt about it. When I spoke to the lady about my charges she was super defensive and tried to comeback with “No OnE AsKs AbOuT oUr pRiCeS fOr SaLsA” Girl, this place is in the hood and I doubt that from looking at some reviews. In fact, all I said to her was you guys charge for salsa and automatically put it on there without asking or letting that person know? It’s a legitimate question. - there wouldn’t be so much confusion if there was an updated menu with the prices just like every other business.Quality, communication and customer...

I went back to Joels with a friend of mine. We used to go 25 years ago when it was just very, minimal. There was a little buffet and it was really good! Today we got there at 12pm and not one person acknowledged that we were there. We seated ourselves. and waited for ten minutes to even be looked at! I ended up spending almost $40 on a breakfast plate And a barbacova plate. Not only did they charge us 2.50 for drinks. They charge us the extra 50 cents for Styrofoam cups. I asked for the Ranchero sauce on side, and they charged me $2.99 for 1.5 ounces. So when going to a place like this for lunch, it is not reasonable at all! The waitress had no personality whatsoever.... you could tell she was pissed about something! What's funny to me?They dont care anymore. What really pisses me off about being a Hispanic person? Is that ghetto ass Hispanic restaurants will nickel and dime everyone! Even as far as charging you for water because they charge you for the cup! I should have just gone to Sabrosa 289 and and Quaker. Far superior service and attractive waitstaff! Joels was such a great place in the old days...... it turned into just a money-grubbing pit. Yeah, I...

Sweetie and I were in Lubbock again and searched for a restaurant on Google. We decided on Joel's because we weren't looking for anything heavy to eat and Joel's looked like it had diner style food. We found our way to the restaurant (which is located in a somewhat residential neighborhood) and parked across the street because it's small parking lot was full (a good sign, right?). We went in and found out it was a Mexican style restaurant with a nice little buffet. Sweetie ordered a breakfast burrito with eggs and potatoes and ham. I opted for the buffet. The buffet had really good build your own tacos and carne asada burritos along with beans, rice, a nice salad bar and even a couple of soups. The taco and asado were delicious. I had a bowl of their soup and discovered it was menudo! It wasn't just menudo, it was really delicious menudo! We both ate well and filled up just right and it was a tad over $20 for both of us, including drinks. Well...
