This restaurant was a pleasant surprise during our recent visit to the area. While most restaurants in the area are fast food or chain like restaurants, this one seemed to be family owned. Every one on staff was friendly and our server went above and beyond. Our server made a few mistakes, however, she was attentive and willing to help. Our main meals were all delicious. My husband had the bowtie pasta and p9nk sauce (a version of ala vodka minus the vodka) with smoked pink salmon and a house salad. The house salad was fresh and ranch tasted homemade. The pink sauce was lacking flavor in my opinion but my husband loved it. I would have definitely needed parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper added to that dish! The veal picatta was much different than any I've ever had, but my mother swears it was the best meal she ever had! I had Blackened chicken pasta Primavera. The sauce was alfredo with squash carrots onion mushroom and penne. We had an order of 10 wings with mild sauce and they were more than delicious... so we ordered another round. I had a Caesar salad which was nothing special but good nonetheless. There was no bread served which was odd. There were many choices to order, so we got bruschetta! It was a good not great, again my opinion. There was a balsamic reduction drizzle atop baguettes thinly sliced with chopped tomato and mozzarella mixture. It just wasn't as robust a flavor as I would imagine those fresh ingredients would provide. Everything was pretty good. There were opportunities to improve.

First I will note upon payment I noticed a $4 increase on my dish I ordered. Wouldn't have made a stink if that was the only issue, I grabbed another menu with updated prices cus I know everything is going up. But to get home and open up to 4 regular sized raviolis, no bread or anything for $16 is insane. They were yummy but also barely warm. I had to pay extra for a side salad, which they sent a cheaper incorrect salad. And to add insult to injury there was a hair right on top of the salad. All I wanted was to have some nice Italian food for my birthday and instead I was left hungry and disappointed. I have ordered here many times and i called in and requested to speak to the manager instead of leaving this review. I heard them talking while I was waiting and he couldnt be bothered to take my call and had the young server take the call back. Claimed to be too busy when there were only a couple cars in the parking lot. I left my name and number, the issues with my order and he never bothered to reach back. The owner needs to get a lesson in Italian food and hospitality. They could care less about it so they've lost my business now.

We were staying next door at the Fairfield inn (South Hill VA) so the wife said pizza and who am I to to say no to pizza(Im a pizza pie junkie). So I go next door and order a pizza and as I waited some locals came in and ordered food to go. One of the Young lads started a conversation with me so we spoke for several minutes while waiting on our food, my point here is the locals are very nice as well. The pizza was ready, good and hot and very cheesey. I asked for paper plates Because we were at the hotel but they didn't have any so the young lady behind the counter got creative and gave me some aluminum takeout bowls, you know the aluminum kind (hey it worked!). I did take a quick look at the menu and the prices looked pretty good and they had a nice menu selection. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you try anything other than a pizza but definitely try the pizza. Its a cute place and every one that I spoke to that worked there, they were all very nice and polite and thats rare in our world in this day and age, get over there and get some food! #kulinarymafia approved!

I've dined-in and gotten take-out from here before. This time, the experience was dissapointing. I always get the Spaghetti Carbonara, which is usually very good, but it was quiet dry this time and did not have enough sauce. We also ordered a stromboli and the young girl at the counter didn't give it to us when we came in for the order. We weren't quite sure if she even worked there at first since she was wearing a very low cut tanktop or something. Definitely not what I would consider appropriate for working at a restaurant. We went back in and got our stromboli after realizing it wasn't with the rest of our food. My carbonara did not have enough sauce at all. It didnt even cover the pasta. By the time I got home with the meal, even after heating it up, the pasta was pretty dry. This wasnt being caused by the sauce thickening either, since our meal was still hot when we got home, it was just not enough sauce, which made it bland. We also ordered onion petals, and received a small serving of them. They were okay, but the onions didnt seem fresh. I also got a side salad with my meal, which was good. The Garlic knots were great. The meat on the stromboli we ordered didnt seem fresh either, and we did not get any marinara with it. Overall, this is not going to stop me from trying Lucas again, it may have just been a bad shift or poor timing. I'll definitely give them another chance, since my first 2...
