My wife and I love Mi Pueblo and often times find ourselves saying we wish it was closer. Anytime we have a birthday party, sporting event near by or any kind of event we always eat out there or get to go. Today my wife asked me to call in dinner to go in which I did since I was in Lumberton for a birthday party. They said it would be ready in 10-15 mins which was good bc it would take me that amount of time to get there from where I was. I get there and pay. A lady walks in a few mins behind me and they give her the same meal I ordered and I know this bc I told her I had been waiting for the family dinner as well and to get ready to wait since she said she ordered the same. She looked at me and said sorry. I mentioned the lady order the same as me and walked in and out with hers and asked where mine was, they responded with just a bit longer. Time keeps passing by and they bring out a togo order and said Ramen, I said nope not me but that appears to be the same meal I ordered and it was. So here I am sitting and waiting again. Food was ordered via phone at 4pm, they said 10-15 mins and I was finally handed my food at 5:05 & not one person felt bad at all. I did not leave a happy customer and with the way it was handled, I will never go back. Never did a manager come out to apologize or anything. If they wouldn't have took my money I would have left. I'd rather Taco Bell ...
Read moreNew to town, my boyfriend went for dinner after a long day of moving. We really enjoyed the salsa, it could have been a little more spicy, but it was chilled and had a nice amount of cilantro! Also the Tex-Mex style food was very good including their queso. I do wish that they served beer or margaritas considering Lumberton is "wet" now and in my opinion, these things are staples in the Tex-Mex scene.
Our service was actually very good; however, I did not appreciate being reprimanded by our very young server, "Dylan" I believe was his name, when asking if they had any beer on tap. He politely told me, "no, we do not serve alcohol here ma'am.", but then proceeded to leave a handwritten scripture on my receipt:
1 Peter 2:11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.
I am a Christian and I am not against scripture whatsoever; however, I did take offense as I did feel that this was personally directed toward me in response to asking about beer. I do not go out to eat for life advice from my high school aged server. There is an appropriate time to minister to others and being on the clock and taking a gamble at offending customers is not one of them. We will go back due to the fantastic food, but we will not sit in...
Read moreI'll start with a highlight and that was the server's attitude. He was friendly, but he was the only one.
We walked in and waited a bit only to eventually be asked if we were picking up a to-go order. When we said no, it was time to be rushed off to a seat as he grabbed the menus, turned, and walked away. No welcoming us to the restaurant or even a smile to say what she couldn't seem to with words. Without asking if we wanted a booth or table, she sat us next to the kitchen door, though there were many other tables open, and walked off like we had interrupted her day.
The food was okay, but overpriced for what it was. Even their little dish of chili con queso was over $8.50 which makes it the most expensive chili con queso in town, without being noticeably better in any way. The tamale tasted as though it came out of a can and the pico de gallo was obviously not made the same day. The guacamole and taco were good, but they didn't make up for the price of the plate and the other items which you'd expect to find at a fast food Mexican restaurant.
The server couldn't take our money at the table so we had to check out up front where we met two more employees who were pretty horrible. I left shaking my head. Now I know why this place isn't...
