I am pretty disappointed it being my first time here, and having heard such good things from other people, maybe I just got unlucky. This was also a date for my boyfriend and I and we don't often get to go out because of our schedules.
I felt very rushed, it took about 20 minutes from start to finish for me to get the food, eat, and leave.
We sit at our table, we get our appetizer and drinks put in, and then we order our main meal. Drinks come out, apps come out, and service at that time was okay. The dumplings could be better, the frozen ones I buy have more flavor than these, but I still thought they were okay.
Then we get our main meal. I was already a bit bummed out because what I wanted was considered a lunch special (11.50) but it only goes till 3pm (I was there around 5:30). So I got the same thing, but with slightly more food, and that was $25, more than double what it is before 3pm.
So the server drops off the food, asked if we needed anything, and leaves. I started trying a bit of each thing when I realized that there wasn't much flavor, and the boneless ribs were very hard and dry. The crab ragoons don't taste like even imitation crab, just cream cheese. Chicken fingers were okay, teriyaki I did not try, and I got pork fried rice that was okay, but also needed either soy sauce or salt.
I stopped eating just so I could look for my server, or anyone whom could help me. It took quite a few minutes. When I did manage to flag my server down, she was practically running past me, and had still yet to ask how the food was.
I said, "Excuse me". She says, "Yes?" While she's still rushing. I asked, "Could I get some soy sauce?" She says yes and starts to walk away from my table again. That's when I quickly added "And salt, please?!".
She brings what I asked and runs off again without a word, this became a habit at the end of our dining experience.
My boyfriend didn't finish any of the meals completely, yet I was still in the middle of eating. Not even 5 minutes passed since I had asked if I could get some salt/soy and we're asked if we want boxes. He said yes, and she said she'd bring the boxes, and runs off. At this point, I am not full at all, I feel incredibly uncomfortable and most importantly rushed. She drops off the boxes and leaves without saying anything.
So I said screw it, the experience wasn't that great, so I started to just pack up my food. I take my card out and wait for the check. She comes over with the check and asks if I want to run my card. I hadn't even LOOKED at the check yet. I felt very dismissed and was very unsatisfied.
First time going, but it will be my last. Jade sells better meals all day, not just till 3pm, and it's WAY cheaper. The service was not that great, and the food lacked a lot of flavor/was weird (@the teriyaki sushi).
Ruined the night with my boyfriend as well, so that's the cherry on top. Was NOT worth...
Read moreThe Good: The Server was great! Everything on her end was timely, and on point. She had a great smile, and a very welcoming attitude. The restaurant is clean, modern, and very well laid out. The menu offered many choices from Chinese, Japanese, Sushi, and some Thai. The order cane extremely fast, and the food was plentiful, and piping hot.
The Not so good: The food!! We odered a appetizer combo. It was comprised of Chicken Teriyaki, Crab Rangoons, Chicken Fingers, and Chicken Wings. Just from looking at the chicken fingers- they looked like a huge miss. When I touched them- they were not at all crispy. They were the exact consistency of being reheated in a microwave. The manager said they don't microwave food, but I have a hard time believing anything that came out of a deep fryer could be that mushy.
The Chicken wings, and Crab Rangoons were crispy, but even then- it tasted as if the oil was in need of changing. The Chicken Teriyaki was mostly dry, and also tasted as they have been reheated. Just not at all impressed.
For the entree- I ordered beef w/peppers, and onions. The entree also came with a choice of fried rice, or white rice. We went with the pork fried rice. The rice comes in a seperate bowl on the side of the entree. My advice is to absolutely keep that rice away from the rest of your entree. The fried rice was unequivocally the worst I have ever had. I mixed it in with my entree which basically ruined the meal. My wife echoed my expierence.
The manager took $6 off for the appetizer combo. I'm really not about getting comp'd on my check. The point of my feedback is to give the restaurant a chance to make corrections where corrections can be made. For example- if they are indeed reheating, and especially microwaving food- I want them to know, that I know my food was microwaved. That's fine if that's how they want to do it- but give me the microwaved, reheated food price!! Don't charge for hyped up premium food, and do the bait & switch!! People know!! I never microwave leftover Chinese food that was originally fried for that very reason. I eat it cold right out of the takeout containers..
I will not be back to this...
