Food was bland. We ordered cheeseburgers asked for them to be cooked medium, they were well done, toppings were chintzy, e.g., one pickle slice on the whole burger, there was nothing special about the buns. Maybe toasting or steaming them would have added some interest. Steak and cheese sandwich toppings were only on one side of the hoagie roll. not evenly distributed—not that big of a deal. French fries were cooked in oil that was not hot enough, they were limp, soggy fries. We also ordered a peach ice cream shake, which was good—not great, but good. Service: our order was taken promptly enough, however, it took a long time for our food to come out. Our food was warm, not hot, when it came. At no point during the meal we were asked if everything was satisfactory. Atmosphere: it was basic, which wouldn’t have been as much of a big deal if the other elements—food and service—were above average. The music was far too loud. I realize you can’t please everyone with music choices, (modern country is not my first pick), but I can read the room and see to whom the music is being catered. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but I certainly wouldn’t have driven four miles out of my way to go to a truly overrated restaurant. Maybe it was an off day for them. I felt like I was eating at someone’s house I...

We pulled over because of the sign out front. Home of the Famous Jess’ Hot Dog! I love Hot Dogs 🌭 and we were looking for a quick lunch. So we each had a hot dog with chili. And I got the Cindy Burger - Bacon, Cheese, Peanut Butter and Jelly. I added pickles. The burger was good but there is room for improvement. The ratios of the ingredients specifically. Bacon should be in every bite. Too much jelly as it slipped out on the plate and there was still plenty on the burger and I would slather on more peanut butter to make it more a prominent flavor. The chili dog was average. But a great appetizer. Our waitress disappeared for long periods of time and we had to get up to find her. She seemed to be the only one working the front of house and although the restaurant wasn’t busy there were a lot of milkshakes ordered which takes time. The restaurant was clean although...

Food was fine- not nearly as delightful as the original Jess’ Lunch. However, service was horrible. We arrived with ample time before closing, and were greeted with “we’re closing soon, the grill is off, but if you can order something quick…” so, it rubbed us wrong and we clearly asked would it be too much trouble to order. We made a quick and simple order, nothing fancy. Cheeseburgers and the classic chili dog. The food eventually made it to our table over 30 minutes after we ordered, was dropped off and we were told “grab it and go.” The passive aggressive attitude wasn’t very kind, not to mention the cussing and yelling coming from the kitchen between the waitress and cook staff. It’s a shame such a great legacy and name has been ruined by a chaotic and unfriendly...

Can’t make this up. My son wanted chicken tenders and onions rings. When I asked the waitress told me we couldn’t swap the fries in the kids meal for onion rings but that we could order them separately and get 6 chicken tenders. Ok that’s fine just bring me an extra plate because he is not going to eat an entire meal with all those tenders and onion rings. 3/4 of our food comes out, tenders included which was 3 tenders cut in half to give us 6. When questioned we were told that we got 6, our response but it’s still 3 cut in half. Her response was yes kind of and walked away. Our daughter ordered 6 chicken wings and didn’t even get them until after the rest of the table was finished eating. We also had to pay for the 6 chicken tenders.

Cozy little retro cafe with lots of American dishes. The mushroom Swiss burger was really good. Especially with a side of fries. The server was very sweet and our food arrived very quickly. There were a lot of take-out orders being picked up. A pretty steady stream of people coming in for this. We arrived about 45 minutes before closing and our arrival time was taken in stride. I would recommend this grille for quality comfort, 'fast' food in a pleasant setting.
